Looks good, but he is quite expensive. He and Wilhelm III are basically just Gates who can attack twice. In my personal opinion, the purple and gold infantry generals are not that expensive. He is not an end game general so there is really no point in buying him. He is not as great as you think.

The problem with Soult is that garibaldi exists, and his skills are much better, as he has a terrain bonus and tunnel to boot (against Soult’s intercept). In addition, garibaldi’s battle ability is signicantly higher. Even if its mountain, its a huge loss not having a terrain bonus with a massive aura buff, as thats 30% output you are throwing down the drain, if not more. I feel as though soult is very overpriced for what he can offer. Its the other three generals on your team that are phenomenal not him. If you want an infantry tactics master general to work with aura buffs, Robert or Garibaldi are your prefered options. Not him. He looks great but he really isn’t. |
