Mission 1 of the Eastern Overlord campaign.
This mission is a complete naval battle similar to Trafalgar in EW4. Your objective is to eliminate every ship. The enemy lead ships have green targets on them, destroying all 3 of them will completely demoralize them making it easy to surround them and cause confusion. Your numbers are superior to the enemy at first so it's easy to blitz them and kill all 3 of the green targets. It's worth noting that killing one of the targets will cause a single morale drop, while killing all 3 causes the double drop.
Enemy reinforcements will spawn in 3 times I believe, the final batch will spawn on round 6. If you can delay killing the targets until round 6 then you can make sure you demoralize every ship. However, the 3 star requirement is 10 turns and I had the 3 targets killed on round 5, so you might not have enough time to finish if you wait.
The only naval general I have is Falsen and he's pretty garbage. His combined ability amounts to ~40, so a general like Kutuzov or Bolivar does more damage than him on combat ability alone.

This is such an indepth and (compared to other guides on the baords) literate guide but I just cannot seem to pull it off. I have Falsen and bought Codrington with my medals, and even put some of my regular generals on ships to give them a health boost but still cant destroy all the ships. When I rush I am completely annhilated and when I defend I do a bit better but one of the flagships just camps in the back so I eventually get torn up. How did you do it especially with ONLY Falsen??

Have you upgraded your naval tech at all? Mine is upgraded to level 1 on all of the categories so maybe that's why. I used all my generals on ships for the health boost. It's strange that you're not only having trouble finishing on time but are actually being defeated. Maybe you are saving your generals too much, send the one that the game gives you into the fire so he can get a lot of counter attacks.
It could also be your maneuvers. If I remember correctly, I started off by targeting the left side of the enemy forces rather than sail straight into the middle.
Remember that killing one flagship causes a morale drop so after you kill one of them on round 2 or 3 you can flank the enemy ships and cause big morale problems.

Aim to kill all three green ships first. The double morale drop ensures that the ships are easier to kill

I have Victoria, so it may be pretty easy once I come around to it.

what i did is to kill one ship and lower the other two hp to near-death, then kill both once the final enemy appears

Hi, Sharing my video guide for the Battle of Athos. The key is to hurt their morale, you can destroy a significant amount of ships in confusion mode. and save a couple of generals for the reinforcements.

What I did was I let the enemy come to me. It was slow but I was able to defeat a good portion of the enemy with some of the enemy missing.
