Last mission for Bagration. Should I focus on the French first or go straight for the ottoman city?

Last mission for Bagration. Should I focus on the French first or go straight for the ottoman city? I decided to destroy French first. Ottomans are not very active at first and Mahmud can be killed relatively easy. But when we are near that ottoman city, AI will spam units every turn. So I think it is better to attack it only after all threats in the north are eliminated... |

I did it by capturing cities in the south.. still it's tough

After a couple different tries I completed it by focusing on the French in the north first. After capturing the city directly north I than focus south to capture the ottoman city.

Wellesley toughed out and defended the city for 6 turns which was enough to capture the 2nd objective city.
By sheer luck I had finished this one hell of a mission.

It's pretty easy, got 3 stars on first try. Don't bother attacking enemy units. Just go straight on ottoman city and defend your city using grenadier.

Or leave bagration in the city as defending is something he is specifically made for. wreck mahmud ii then move south to capture the city. Did it in 5 rounds (I am sure 4 is possible) |

Turns out if you lose the middle city, you don’t actually lose the challenge. Idk if 3 is possible. Point is kill mahmud ii, maybe grouchy, then march south |
