Guarding Berlin is the first mission in the Birth of the Empire campaign. This is a defense mission and our goals for 3 stars are to hold 3 cities. I managed 3 stars unsung Kutuzov, Washington, Mamhud, Gates, Jourdan, and Clinton. My strategy for this mission is to rush all my troops except artillery forward to occupy the lvl 2 city near the middle and Leipzig. With these cities I produce militia/line infantry nearly every turn to hold the city and make a line of defense. Bernadotte and Davout will attack the northern city. At first I kept my artillery generals in the north to kill them. While my infantry in the center hold the line, I moved my artillery generals south to kill the enemy generals attacking the center. Killing Napoleon will cause the enemy a double morale drop. Use the opportunity to cause confusion on the enemy and wipe out their remaining units that are attacking. On turn 10 a 2nd wave of enemy units will spawn. Just keep the defense and hold the cities. When I played the enemy did capture the northern city but I was able to take it back. Keeping Ludwig alive will give your allies reinforcements and a morale boost on turn 9.
