This is the 5th mission in the Spanish war campaign, and I have Bolivar, Massena, Kutuzov and pagent. This is one of those missions where Your army as well as the allies are seriously dependent from the aura skills of Your gens. You have Massena, but I am afraid Massena alone won't provide success. You need more aura skill gens. Alternatively try not to defend absolutely everything simply to pass it. But some further missions are also quite difficult. |

I have Nelson, Wellesley, Napoleon and Blucher more or less fully upgraded and with the best equipment and still cant pass. I can get to round 14 but die before 15 to get that far i defend yours ( british ) and Portuguese postions Portugal position being the fall back point and nelson covering your retreat.

Very simply way to get 2 stars:
Simply take your 5 best generals an head to the island.
Start with 4 generals. With the rest of units destroy the ships in the south. If anyone is left after that, get them to the island and use them as shield. One arty in the back an your best general with 2 ambulace at the peak.
Simple and not possible to get the island in 15 round for france.

I believe that this is the best strategy for 3-starring this mission:
-Deploy your generals on the Assault Infantry, Highlander, Tank, Musket Cavalry and Rocket Artillery, respectively.
- Send them towards the first wave.
-After the wave is destroyed, capture the French city to prevent them from spawning strong units (Ex: Old Guards and Musket Cavalry. They cheat here, those units are normally unspawnable from a Level 3 city).
-Then send them to deal with the second wave.
-Meanwhile, while your generals deal with the waves, send your units without generals to the Portuguese island. They should be strong enough to prevent the French from capturing it. Make sure that the Siege Artillery is able to attack the French transports and ships. Preferably put it in the southernmost part of the island.
Note: Your Ship of the Line has 3 hexes range, use it to sink the 3 French Ships of the Line in the north without receiving a lot of harm. The game makes it impossible to send it towards the southern part of the map where the French will attempt to capture the Portuguese Island (You can’t even attack them with that 3 hexes range), so use the ship to harass enemy French units close to the coast.
