Hi there, unfortunately I dropped my phone and it broke so I will have to restart EW5. However, I still have the intention to finish it. Can someone tell me what the fastest and efficient way for me to reach gunpowder age as quickly as possible and when to upgrade my generals (in particular skills like leadership and cure master). From my previous experience, I found that upgrading leadership and debuffing skills early helped me out a lot. Any help will be appreciated : )

I dont think that theres a very fast way to upgrade to disc age. I think the only way is iaps that as i remember u do have and spending money on lit and medals which is kinda cheating i think(not iaps though theyre just troops and dont get u any resources for free). Just dont make any mistakes. And u shouldnt have any probs before disc age.

But yeah, thanks very much for that advice : )

There is no specific "roadmap" to follow: it's more about applying certain principles. If the aim is to get to gunpowder as quickly as possible (and assuming no medal or lit purchases) then I'd say the things to bear in mind/aim for in order to achieve maximal efficiency are, in a fairly loose order of importance: Empire mode - reach the extra daily medal giving missions milestones asap Burn through the campaigns asap - conquest is mostly for when your stuck on the other two Know your final team early (or at least 6-7 of them) and buy them as soon as you can, and upgrade them asap with each new age - I tend to prioritise the italicised part over the upgrading of skills Only upgrade the skills of your final team generals 1 level 6 team skill > 2 level 3s* Always go for the green markets containing bonuses first on any type of mission Prioritise wooing the free generals over the princesses where there's a choice to be made Go for the best princesses available first BUY NOBUNAGA Imo the first point is the most important one to bear in mind, and sometimes it might make sense to slightly upgrade someone you know your not going to keep right to the end or build a market instead of a princess city if you think it will make a significant difference right now, e.g. if your sitting at 74 cities. *In terms of practicability. I haven't done the maths on this, it's just intuition. If anyone wants to provide data to the contrary I'll revise my opinion.

But seeing as though you will be stuck in between eras due to the literature requirement, i think the best to approach conquest is to get 3/4 generals you can farm classical for resources. But nevertheless I agree, overemphasis on conquest can lead to poor teams, as was the case when I purchases Li Shimin and Richard on my first playthrough. Another thing I noticed was that when I got to lvl 70, my daily income increased from 210 medals to 280 medals, even tho I had less than 125 cities. It was a big change which motivated me to push further. Thank you so much for the useful advice.

That is the time to be playing conquest as far as I'm concerned. Personally I tend to go for different ages/levels to get the extra medals too rather than doing Classical Greece over & over, but that boils down to personal preference.

I think I was wrong to do China lol... I have been doing Greece with 5 comms (Napoleon, Genghis Khan, Washington, Alexander, Koxinga) and it has been super easy

My setup. For some reason I can't get the Napoleon image to be the same size as the others
