There are 29 in inf, 28 in cav, 17 in arty and 18 in navy in Military School (excluding 4 free gens but including those in Challenges). The other slots are naturally empty. You can get any gen if you have space and the necessary medals (flowers as well if you're deploying a princess as a gen). If you mean gen slots, I believe 2 can be bought by coins, the rest is either already available or can be bought with IRL cash.

Thanks for the answer man, but I refered to the slot in the military School. Not my gen slots, I know they are 8 for free. For example in challenge mode (crimean war) I see Alexander II but I cant find him in the School. And he has a specific description, not a generic one like some russian/tribal general. I almost end the game (i have to finish only crimean war) but in the list of all generals I see there are some (6 circa for infantry, 4/5 foto cavalry, none for artillery) empty slot.

Those are supposed to be empty because maybe it is easier to design a full page of 8 slots, with some blanks rather than cut it off abruptly. Sadly, the many gens found in Campaigns, Conquests or Challenges that do not appear in the School are not unlockable.

I don't understand why they have generals, but don't allow you to buy them. They did this also in WC4 with the likes of Budyonny. I wish we at least had the chamce to buy them

I wish we at least had the chamce to buy them Some of us believe that having too many gens can be quite confusing or troublesome. Imagine if ET has to write back stories for all the gens found in the game, develop stats for them and estimate a price for them. Then, players will have to scroll through many pages worth of gens to inspect and analyse them. Lastly, if you're just a player who does not check out guides, forums, etc. related to them, you'll feel overwhelmed by how many gens you have to spend time choosing.

Even at the beginning of EW6, Karl, Massena, Murat were considered suck because we didn't know how strong the aura skills are
