Morocco, Denmark, and Austria.
The key is not France. It’s the Apennines and Turkey. If they don’t take enough cities, their collapse is just a matter of time. Denmark is the only one out of these three that has to face France primarily and let the allies deal with the rest. Remember to aid Gran Columbia every turn until they have the advantage and Mexico when you are about to mop up in Europe.
Agree to disagree with the France bit. If you aren’t careful, France will knock out Spain, Portugal, Austria, and even Prussia. Two of these countries capitulates, restart.
Basically the strategy -
Coalition - all of your allies are going to get defeated if you do nothing, and some will anyway.
Notable countries that capitulate are: austria, gran columbia, egypt, tribal union, prussia (first austria goes than prussia will follow), spain, portugal, and maybe canada. Austria, egypt, tribal union, and gran columbia will be the first to go.
Bavaria, Sweden, and Denmark join around turn 30. Once they do, the conquest becomes much easier. If you protect your allies till then, it will go without problems.
Advantages: if you pick the countries that join very late or lose, you will have an overwhelming advantage.
Recommended countries: Egypt, Denmark, Spain, Mexico, Canada, Morocco, Sweden, Bavaria, Gran Columbia, Prussia
Easy: Bavaria, Canada, Denmark, Gran Columbia, Sweden
- Out of these, Canada and Gran Columbia can easily overpower their enemy (takes around 7 turns to win against the US with elite generals) and help out in the other front in the Western Hemisphere. Bavaria - defend for ten 10 turns then invade, Denmark hurry and help out either Austria or the invasion of France. Sweden joins earlier than Denmark, but Denmark has iceland out of which you can spam a riflemem division and wipe out US with ease.
Medium: Egypt and Morocco, Mexico, Prussia, Spain
Mexico takes longer to capitulate us than Canada, but same strategy. Prussia (Blucher with Ambulance tho) and Spain will have to do a lot of fighting but a good player can quickly end France, then the two italies. Egypt and Morocco will wipe out Algeria and then the two Italies, but naval invading Naples will be quite tricky. Egypt is the one to capitulate as opposed to Morocco, so playing as them is the way to go imo.
Not so Recommended Countries: Austria, UK, Russia, Tribal Union, Portugal
(Why, UK and Russia aren’t the type of countries to get defeated, plus mobilizing will take forever. No reason to play as them. Tribal union only allows to use tribal militia against the strong Algeria. Yeah no thanks. Austria is very difficult, but also allows you to eat the two italies fast. Do note that I lose all of austria when playing as them, and my troops were exiled in italy. Just not worth the stress. Portugal starts off very far away from the battlefield, with weak generals and I weak economy. I personally can’t stand playing as them, but other people like to.
French Eagle
Advantages: all of your allies are winning the front. Make sure to capitulate as many enemies as you can before Denmark, Sweden, or Bavaria join. Now, Bavaria is actually right in the center of Europe so they are no issue. Brazil will defeat Gran Columbia, and proceeds to relieve the pressure off of the us with mexico. Algeria will knock out Egypt. Austria will collapse. Tribal union does too. France will begin winning the peninsular war (its up to you to get the K.O. tho).
Recommended Countries:
France, Ottoman Empire, Algeria, Naples, Italy
Easy: France, Ottoman Empire (but many responsibilities), Algeria,
Medium: Naples, Italy
France is easy??? What??? It is actually. Use the elite artillery generals to defend against the British and Prussian spam, use everybody else to invade Spain. You can quickly overwhelm and crush them. What I did personally was instead of entirely crushing spain, I instead made my path to portugal, collapsed them, and then crushed spain. After that, turn your army around and then crush bavaria early, and afterwards move into prussia then the two scandinavian countries and then russia. It is a pretty long and demanding conquest but definitely doable. Keep Suchet and Napoleon alive due to their badass healing abilities. Send some of the more wounded troops from Spain to finish off morocco.
Ottoman Empire also allows you to effortlessley eat austria than prussia. Afterwards I would focus on russia.
Algeria is my personal favorite. You are in the position to help defeat 5 entire countries within 30 rounds. Stomb the tribal union early for their economy, very easy to do, then crush morocco and help out in the peninsular war, use your spare funds to crush egypt as well, the ottoman empire will help. Then naval invade britain with the help of the spanish wonder you will accumulate. Then crush canada. Its a very long conquest but an extremely satisfying one.
Naples and Italy are good choices, but they also have to do a lot of heavy lifting. Naples particularly does take a bit to get to the battlefield. With any of those, I would invade austria and prussia with the entire army and send the reserves to Egypt and Morocco. They are doable just not that easy.
Not-So-Recommended countries: Brazil, Usa
For Brazil, you can crush Gran Columbia in under 15 turns. Then you will have to invade mexico. Unfortunately there is an inconvenient island and cuba which make it a lot more difficult. Even if you do collapse gran columbia, mexico, and canada, the french eagle will most likely lose in europe and winning would be impossible. It would be an extremely long conquest as well.
For usa, same situation applies. The distance across the mediterranean will make it extremely difficult to win. Plus capitulating canada or mexico isn’t very easy. Canada on its own will take around 20 turns. Then mexico an additional 20. By then the spam from denmark sweden and bavaria will make the conquest unplayable.
In short, play as the coalition and make it easier for yourself. I would particularly recommend playing as Spain or Canada for the 3 star, Algeria or Denmark for the two star (Denmark is much easier), and Bavaria or Egypt for the one star.
