I recently downloaded the game and I love it, but I found a bit hard to understand the game. I passed the American campaign but I'm having some troubles with the French one. Also the only way I win conquest is by playing the neetherlands. I know there is a tutorial but I think It doesn't explain everything as how does moral works or how to conquest cities efficiently.

I would try to get Massena. As for conquest, there are a couple easy countries you can play as, Spain for the 3 star is very easy, just make sure you use the wonder when invading britain. For the two star, i like prussia, sweden, and demark. Basically for conquest, the goal is not to take cities but to knock out enemy countries entirely. Each enemy country you knock out will significantly weaken the enemy team. For example, even taking out the netherlands in 1798 will result in a 150 population loss for the enemy team, which means that thats around 10-30 less units the enemy team can spam, which is a big hit. The second most important thing is making sure your allies don’t collapse. In 1798, you can lend lease portugal, sardinia, and sweden which will cause the ai a lot of problems as these countries are scripted to capitulate. If you send them money, they will either hold out for a very long time or they will survive in general. Make good use of every resource you have in conquest. I prefer spamming the weaker units (i.e. riflemen, light cavarly, militia, light artillery, schooners and the ships with only 1 hex range, as these are very cheap to spam). I would recommend learning conquest first then the campaign. It is an amazing way to get medals quickly. Finally, aura buff generals are the ones you should get (the skills infantry master, cavarly commander, artillery expert, and escorting). They buff both ur unit, ur other units, and ur allies’ units. As for the iaps, the best one is blucher. Second best is napoleon. Wellesley is still very good, but he lacks an aura so he will eventually be replaced by barclay.

You will probably get thru the French campaign just fine with the free generals. On conquest: Take all cities and the country will capitulate no matter how many troops they have. Taking the enemy Capitol will cause a drop in moral of all troops of that country for a couple turns. You take thier resources and sometimes you may see a ? Which means they are confused (or routed)and cannot defend or attack.
