Because it’s 1815. No one has it easy during that era. France is absolutely ridiculous to fight. I remember them being able to single handedly knock out Prussia, Britain, Spain, Portugal and Austria, WHILE BEING MY ALLY. Let that sink in. Easytech has a messed-up logic. How come France is difficult to defeat but hard to play as? Or am I able to just swoop in with Denmark or Britain and squash them like bugs? Or be Ottomans and watch them show why they are called the Grand Armeé?

Does anybody have a guide for Sweden 1798? I tried it, it’s truly easy, but some of my most important allies such as HRE and Naples fell which made the Conquest super boring since I had to deal with both Spain and France.

There's no complete guide per se. The only thing I can dig up is my guide on invading Denmark-Norway more efficiently. Will this help?

Does anybody have a guide for Sweden 1798? I tried it, it’s truly easy, but some of my most important allies such as HRE and Naples fell which made the Conquest super boring since I had to deal with both Spain and France. I could give you some tips: - Kill Denmark fast.
- Attack France as soon as possible. The reason why France beats HRE is because France moves first in the turn order, but HRE can stand up to France as long as you're able to cripple them and cut off their reinforcements.
- Declare on Italy on Turn 6. Naples can actually beat Italy 1v1, but Naples joins on turn 6 while Italy joins on turn 9. The neapolitans are going to stupidly try to sail to Corsica during these three turns, leaving their entire army helpless in a death trap in the Tyrrhenian sea. So yeah, declare on Italy on turn 6.
- Warsaw is a non-issue.
- Focus on sieging when fighting the Ottomans, HRE can easily tank for you in this area if they're not crushed by France.
Generally speaking, your allies have a better chance at survival if you play fast.

Easytech has a messed-up logic. How come France is difficult to defeat but hard to play as? Or am I able to just swoop in with Denmark or Britain and squash them like bugs? Or be Ottomans and watch them show why they are called the Grand Armeé? Oh yeah, I guess I'll answer this too. AI France has seemingly an endless treasury during this era as they spam Old Guards and Horse Grenadier Guards like madmen. Both of those units are horrifying to fight, especially Old Guards as they have a low pop cost, are really tough, and pose a serious threat to your allies' cities. The generals they spawn are also all maxed and they're often on these horribly powerful units. However, when YOU play as France in 1815 you don't have access to ANY of these advantages. You can't spam a ton of super strong units since you don't have the income. Old Guards cost 160 gold and Horse Grenadier Guards cost 260 gold. You can't magically spawn a cavalry general in a city, and you have pretty much no allies worth talking about. Your closest ally is Italy, and your only semi-competent ally are the Ottomans who can't help you. And you start off having to fight Britain, Prussia, Russia, Spain, Austria and Portugal, with Denmark, Sweden and Bavaria joining the fight later on. However, it's not all bad when playing France 1815. Some of the coalition members join really late, so you can avoid getting overwhelmed as long as you take out some of your enemies as fast as possible. Honestly it's more of a race to win the Peninsular war as fast as possible, and then push as hard as possible on your eastern front. I personally think that placing 1815 France as Very Hard is a bit of an overexaggeration, but sure, it's probably the hardest conquest in the game if you haven't beaten anyone by ~turn 25.

Nice bullet points. But yeah that about covers it.

Sorry if this is more of a historical question, but what’s the difference between the Holy Roman Empire and the Austrian Empire? The HRE composed various territories which included Austria, Bavaria, Saxony etc, while the Austrian Empire was composed of just Austria itself? Since the game treats them as essentially the same faction. Also, it makes me wonder why the Austrian Empire is more powerful than the HRE if the HRE was bigger.

Did you declare on italy turn 1? That is very important. The other thing is to start sending your portuguese resources turn 5. You probably need massena too before you grind the netherlands, otherwise you will have to spend money on new troops which means you will have less money to bribe portugal.

Gonewith 8 but not all fully upgraded generals fully upgraded: massena, murat partially upgraded: napoleon, barclay, blucher, dabrowski, nelson, and karl if you declare war on italy turn 1, bribe naples, prussia, russia, and poland. Send your resources to portugal all after turn 5. Beat denmark with what you have gotten, its ok if it takes a while. After denmark is gone, capitulate netherlands, then warsaw. Afterwards, you can do nothing but spam line infantry in cities where you need defense. I also have pretty much maxed out tech.
