I have deduced a list of useable infantry generals in wc3. In my opinion, each of these is just as effective as the last. There could be some unexpected options here. I am doing this for fun and want to see how everyone else feels about them in this game. So this is the list.
1. Yamashita: duh, arguably the best infantry general in the game. Fast too. But kind of overpriced.
2. Konev: Yamashita jr who suprisingly costs less than Yamashita but is just as effective. Can be used whenever an inf is needed. Plus lvl 3 raider is awesome.
3. Kesselring: I think he is better than Rundstendt personally. He hits very hard, and overall has nice perks. But he lacks bayonet charge, which is arguably a big deal. Good on air too.
4. Schorner: Kesselring with bayonet charge but no air ability. Decent overall.
5. Student: *spits out water* good stars and good perks. An excellent motorized general. Bad health unfortunately but otherwise overpowered.
6. Kuribiyashi: better than Okumara and Liang imo. Since he has lvl 4 bayonet charge, he can still deal like 70 damage at 2 hp. Really good imo. Can defend cities better than Xue. I like this guy overall.
7. Vasilevsky: I personally don’t like this guy too much (I love Bayonet charge a lot), but overall, he deals nice damage most of the time. This guy is safely a fan favorite and it is not a secret why. However, he is bad in cold war.
8. Clark: this guy looks amazing doesn’t he. Explosives + bayonet charge + terrain bonus. Holy cow. But seeing as he is as slow on govorov on artillery, and will most likely be attacking outside of the city, his urban fighting won’t trigger. Nevertheless, a strong skill set regardless and can hold his own on the battlefield. Better buy than Xue or Li ZR.
9. Sun LR: a great skill set, even if bayonet charge is at low. High output. He is really strong. Not quite as powerful as vasilevsky, but better survivability. He is great hybrid too.
10. Mannerheim: overall, a strong general with good survivability, making him comparable to Vasilevsky, but if his health falls below 50%, he will be a pea shooter. Plus everyone else on this list is more or less protected.
11. Zhang ZZ: this guy is Konev jr. His skill set is artillery barrage/bayonet charge + anti armor + lvl 4 defense tactic. Obviously he isn’t weak. Reasonably good.
12. Liang XC: decent overall. Comparable to Zhang (worse imo).
13. Zhu D: reasonably strong general for 1300, although slow. Huge hp and good survivability. However, same as Mannerheim, his output will be mediocre once his health falls below 50%.
14. Slim: a decent jungle fighting general with high hp. Arguably good. I like Sun more though.
15. Goering: decent infantry general overall (he is meant for plains). High Hp + bayonet charge.
This would be my list, how does everyone else feel. Imo all are pretty much the same hehe. I rated Student very high cuz he can really do a lot on motorized. But Clark is arguably an op version of Student.
1. Yamashita
2. Kuribiyashi
3. Konev
4. Vasilevsky
5. Sun Lr
6. Clark
7. Student
8. Mannerheim
9. Zhang ZZ
10. Kesselring
11. Liang XC
12. Schorner
13. Zhu D
14. Slim
15. Goering
Oh and the difference between Konev and Vasilevsky isn’t huge. Konev loses Plain Fighting and Guerrilla to Bayonet Charge and Raider. In my personal opinion, this is a good trade of. But if you can keep said general’s hp above 50% Vasilevsky is far better. But imo, it isn’t really possible for me. Sun LR is a good mix of the two best qualities.
