We all know this is the easiest way to get 50 medals and some gold. My question is, Why so many think it is important to declare war or bribe other countries when Netherlands starts out with so little? I might declare war on Sardinia, not always the first turn, but never bribe. It baffles me when people say bribe Poland turn xxx ect.,but where's the gold to do so? Also Britain comes hard after you. Poland will almost always fall, seems better to build your own than to waste on a country that has so little chance of survival.

Poland will almost always fall, seems better to build your own than to waste on a country that has so little chance of survival. Bribing other countries make it so the French and it's allies can beat countries such as Autria and Naples. Declaring war on Sardinia and Portugal turn 1 makes it so they lose faster, so Spain and French forces stationed in Corsica can help their allies in the front lines. If you have strong generals, there's no need to bribe since you can just beat them easily. Bribing is usually for beginners with no generals or only have the free generals. Although declaring war is a must, so your allies can help against Prussia, Britain and Russia faster. Also, Poland joining the war earlier increases it's chance of surviving, and Poland doesn't fall 100%. So overall, bribing is a must if you have no generals or have weak generals, while declaring war is always a must, unless you enjoy prolonging the game or you just enjoy moving your units around.
