Hello EW6 community,
I have gone inactive from the game for a few months due to personal life matters, now I've returned to find that there's a new game EW6. I tried it out and I am still confused over how the game works compared to EW4. I previously only played EW4 and had gotten quite a strong team of generals, but now on EW6, the general mechanics seem very different.
Is there a starter guide to EW6 available yet? Is grinding medals still the same as in EW4, or is it similar to WC3 now? And which generals would you all recommend me to get as a starting player? I've only completed the tutorial campaign and have 740 medals so far. Thanks guys.

Get only aura buff generals: Massena, Karl, Barclay, Dabrowski, Murat, Blucher, Napoleon, Mahmud, and Alexander are the best of the best. Grind medals via the netherlands (50 per completion) Upping your tech level via the netherlands is also fast and easy. Healing items are the best items to give to generals That’s about all I guess. Have fun

GrouchyYou will get 3 free generals(2 infry 1 arty)progressively during and after completing the American campaign. Then get a naval gen.after completing the Canadian camp. No free Cavarly gen.though, you will have buy one for yourself,I suggest you save medals for one that best suits you.

Everyone says Murat. I agree. It's a very long grind, yes, but I can't tell how important it is to have Murat. He is the best non IAP cav and a definite slot of endgame, especially since cavalry is so important late game for the last missions.

Getting Greene or Ney would be a good choice as they are quite good and half the price of Murat and having a decent Cav general is better than none at all.

There are 2 types of people : those who say you should buy Massena first, and unbelievers. Massena is just good. Get him an ambulance and you can finish most of the French campaign with 3 stars (except the last campaign, annoying af). Although Murat is also great, he's just too expensive. But if you are patient, get him first. Problem is you'll spend not only for a general, but also for items. That means you won't only pay 2205 medals (cost of Murat), but an additional cost for an ambulance, which is 250 if i recall correctly, so a total of 2455 medals is needed. If you are willing to spend, but only for one or 2 purchases, then get Blucher, and maybe Napoleon. Here is the list of the aura generals btw: Infantry : Massena Karl Barclay Cavalry : Blucher Massena Fatbrowski Artillery : Napoleon Mahmud II Alexander I Also, here is a guide for gen paths : european-war-4.boards.net/thread/9654/recommended-gen-paths-discussionAlso, conquests are harder, so make sure to read some conquest guides. And unlike EW4, your cavalry general can't solo a campaign or conquest.

I recommend this path for campaigns
Jordan Gates massena murat. Alexander Dabrowski / blucher Barclay Mahmud II
I complete all the campaigns with this generals. Buy first the healing items. Level up the military rank of your generals to M.general (1 star) except jordan and gates. And level up the nobility to of all your generals to Prince (except jordan and gates), dabrowski max rank is duke. You need to farm netherlands conquest for medals

Gates and Clinton will be good enough to get through right up to the French campaign. But a cavarly gen.and healing items would help.

Look for ambulance+30-tent+20-kit+10 when they appear in your shop. They are more important than Generals. You will be buying them anyway.

When not using aura gens, is it possible? Who should I use? It's better if you use aura generals, since that additional damage to all nearby units of the same type would be really useful, although i guess finishing the game is possible without aura gens, but you have to grind a whole lot to max your generals out. Best non aura gens for each unit are : Infantry : Washington Suvorov Clinton (best unit in the game, not joke ) Cavalry: Lan Ney Davout Artillery: John Sophia Scharnhorst It's best to get one of these generals after you get the aura gens, but if you want, just get them before you get the aura gens. All up to you.
