I am unsure how trade missions work or how worth while they are, but I think the ratio of currency to medals is different for each newly sprung trade available. I have recently found 9540 gears for 100 medals, and this seems quite good.

In my opinion, trading medals for industry, energy, or technology is not worth it.As you play further in the game medals will become pretty hard to get. Just grind out those yellow missions and conquests.

is it bad if you keep trying with little chance of success at yellow missions? i did this early on and i think they got harder gradually with no chance of redoing easier ones and i lost out on a lot of curency. the red ones and purple ones stay when you fail though, so i have been grinding away at them.

Well each yellow mission has multiple recommended abilities such as ace forces, street fighting, etc..(These are the little logos indicated on when you click on the yellow missions. So in whole, your chances of success are higher with either better generals or with generals with the indicated abilities on the yellow missions. |

Yellow: works a lot after HQ lvl 80+.
Trading: at least I don't buy it if 100:1 for industry, 60:1 for energy(I never traded energy before because you can farm many many of that), 20:1 for technology.

I only did trading medal for industry in order to build medal wonders and harvest medal earlier. Otherwise, I do not recommend any trading since you can farm energy and technology from conquests. And as Erich von Manstein mentions, later in game, yellow mission give quite a good reward. I usually run two yellow missions at a time. Each of the mission rewards up to 4900 industry (1939 conquest with 1 stars nation only yields 2000). |

Only traded medals for building medal wonders.
I spend 1000 medals just for that
