Hello together,
I‘m quite new to the game. Just played some campaign missions and some conquests. After some reading through this community I still have some questions. I hope you can help me.
1. is there a difference in buying a general in the academy (headquarter menu) or during a campaign/conquest? I mean will the general from a campaign/conquest still be available after finishing the mission or do I just by him for one mission ?
2. Are stars or medals required to upgrade the Generals?
Thanks in advance

If you buy a general in a mission or conquest, you get them for that one mission/conquest or until they die. As for your second question, Yes.

If you buy a general in a mission or conquest, you get them for that one mission/conquest or until they die. As for your second question, Yes. To add on for (2), you buy trainers who will add respective *s to your main gen when regrouped (unless the gen already has 5*s which is the max amount of *s). These trainers are bought using medals from gen academies and the gen analysis threads should provide insight into the best trainers to buy. However, Rank and Nobility are improved separately. So far, Nobility is increased by capturing enemy farms which can be increased through the Chain the Beast farm. Rank is obtained from defeating enemy units and you can do so either in the Battle of Trafalgar (where it's also good for grinding medals), conquest and campaigns at your own initiative (sending the gen to frequently fight on frontlines) or the newly brought up Battle of Three Emperors.
