Well, I guess you almost answered your own question Defend him with all your generals and destroy units attacking him, after that you will take him and the city under your control.

There is another objective, the city(?) near tegethoff. Not just that city (venice) but tegethoff itself and benedek.

Actually, you have to conquer almost thr entire battlefield, but first things first, so priority number one is to defend your allies.

Then, conquer cities one by one until you got venice and kill tegethoff?

I made defending lamarmora priority and used him throughout the mission. Added an extra Calvary for the city in front and Arty unit for saving lamarmora. This method took me longer because I have an obsession with keeping generals alive . Lol

A confusing start. I was defeated a couple of time before i understood the abolute necessity to make a wall in front of Lamarmora city with my generals. I didn't upgrade the SW city and gave all my money for an artillery, a heavy cavalry and a militia units. My generals did a good job as cannon fodder... By turn 5 or 6, Lamarmora left the town with only 15 hp and was replaced by an allied infantry unit. Then i was lucky to take the devastated and abandoned city before the ennemy entered the town. After that, it is easy. You can take the middle city and the NW city, upgrade this last one, and use military tactic (blast) to help the troops to progress. Before the end, it help to buy lot of artillery to destroy the last fort, SE city and the ships.
