I've heard that some neutral states/tribes can be your allies/foes depending on your "generosity". Can this potentially be a decisive factor in conquests or their friendship/enmity is of little importance?

In the First conquest there are I think two neutral states So it isn't that big but it's usefull

So are you thinking of pulling a Line of Europe hard mode (neutral Benelux backstabs the Western powers and support the Soviets)? Additionally, can this be like Age of Civilisations II whereby neutral countries / countries not at war, but also not friendly towards the player can have their "friendliness" changed over time if players do not "share" gifts?

My ideas are still vague But it seems interesting and historically accurate. Very often powerful states had to bribe uneasy neighbors not because they were fearful of them, but because they didn't have time to deal with them

After trying to make a auto conquest, I came to the conclusion that it's very important to pay attention to neutral states
