Hello from Russia. I speak a little english.
Before playing this conquest as Rome, I spent 70$ and bought Caesar (best archer), Hannibal (best cavalry general), Spartacus (best infantry general), Octavian (another archer), Pompey (good infantry general). Then I completed some missions in Campaign including Sertorian war.
After that I began a Conquest the Punic wars as Rome. I made many attempts, but finally Carthage and his allies overcome me. The last attempt finished by purely defensive game, without any chance to attack.
In my last game I formed simultaneously four big units (5 regiments). Light Infantry in Genoa (commander Spartacus). Light Infantry in Mediolanum (Pompey), Bowman in Rome (Caesar), Light Cavalry in Rome. I sent Pompey in Aquilea. His mission was to protect my nothern border against Illyrians. I designed Scipio (cavalry) to protect Rome, Flaminius (infantry) to protect Brundisium (South Italy), I sent Caesar, Spartacus, Hannibal in Spain, but I couldn't capture any city. Carthage have there many units with two very powerfull elephants with generals. Besides Spain always defeat Portugal (ally of Rome), after that Spain begin to spam units (two regiments). Many units attack my army from all sides and I constantly lose HP without capturing any city. Pompey defend Aquilea successfully. Carthage attack Rome and the green barbarians take Brundisum. After that I quite the game.
Also I tried more expensive units, but I chose cheaper units to replenish them in the conquered cities.
What can I win the Punic wars as Rome?
PS How can I unlock the second conquest?
