Dear Community & Forum members,
Hello! I am Bing Crosby (username, and just a quick online safety tip refrain from using real names when you are online!) and I will be coming up with a monthly newsletter for our forum! This is the first edition, and I am proud to present it to you. Whether you want to check on the latest forum updates, find out quick tips and trivia, or simply want to pass the time, I am sure you will find this useful and entertaining.
Of course, if you do have any suggestion, questions or comments, feel free to share them in this thread instead: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/11051/quick-poll-on-forum-feature , and our team will value your opinions and suggestions. I do hope that we can come closer and strengthen our bond as what started out as a small fan community into an international EasyTech games forum with members from the USA, Russia, Netherlands, the UK, France, Australia, Singapore, India, Romania and all over the world. With that, we shall embark on the contents, and thank you all for your valued support!
Yours sincerely,
Bing Crosby and Editorial Team

Whether you are keen or not, we strongly recommend you to try GCR out, who knows even if you are "not hyped" at the beginning, you will come to like it very much! And there is a reason for doing so, especially Android players. More on that later (hooked you? hahaha).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great Conqueror Rome
- Released both Android and IOS
- Concluded GCR Event for IOS
european-war-4.boards.net/thread/11073/events-great-conqueror-rome
From the 28th of June to the 2nd of July, EasyTech organised a mini-event for players of GCR. By completing a mission, they stood a chance to win up to 2000 medals! If you would like to know more details or find out about the rules, do check out the thread provided. Of course, that event was for IOS players. Android players, do keep your eyes peeled on the GCR forum as the Android-only event is coming soon as well!
European War 6
- Challenging Conquests
european-war-4.boards.net/thread/10921/challenging-conquests
Tired of replaying done campaigns? Cannot clear any records? Try this much lighter records, there are many records not yet beaten, so if you would like to display your skills and strategic prowess, do join Navia Lanoira in claiming these records!
- New record holders!
european-war-4.boards.net/thread/9567/ew6-conquest-records
There has been many new additions to the World's Fastest Conqueror group, and the most recent ones were cojoncio and myself in wc4. One can join the group simply by beating a record in any games that have a record system like in EW6 or WC4, and provide enough evidence as well. With 11 records, cojoncio has made a very strong entrance, and if you would like to attempt at joining the list of recordholders you may do so with the link provided.
World Conqueror 4
- Alternate Records
european-war-4.boards.net/thread/8377/alternate-records
Frustrated by vonschtirlitz and my(^0^) impossible records? Want something fresh and easy? Fret not, as the alternate records are the ideal place for you. With easy records like gaining full gold or defeating all neutral countries as quickly as possible, there are a plethora of records for you to grab. So why not give this a try, and compete with your friends too(aka me as I'm currently the only member there)!
- Guides and Walkthroughs
european-war-4.boards.net/thread/10714/attention-help-needed-all-fans
A while back, I started this list for members to refer to when making guides so that the WC4 library of guides can be completed soon. Since then, I have been heartened by dedicated and helpful members, including Seger , crispyengineer67 , operationoverdrive , Philip II of Macedon and jonblend . Do refer to the list in the link if you are interested in helping out to the forum, and there you can see which conquests or campaigns have yet to have a guide. Together we can complete the wc4 library!
Other games (EW5/4, WC3, GOG2)
- WC3 "records list"
european-war-4.boards.net/thread/6172/fastest-conquest-victories
Wanted to show off your wc3 speed runs but do not know where to do so? After some digging, I managed to locate this thread that resembles records threads from ew6 and wc4, but it is a little something that can be made into something larger with more records if you are interested.
- EW5 Guides!
european-war-4.boards.net/thread/5896/european-war-5-library
With a quick check, the ew5 library needs some polishing, so if you are a ew5 addict or a veteran, it would be nice to see all those purple font change their color as more guides are contributed.
- GOG2 reviews
european-war-4.boards.net/thread/10624/why-gog2-bad
GOG2 is now pretty inactive, and if one wanted to find reasons rather than it being outdated, this thread gathers feedback from experienced members on how the prospects of the game are not really promising.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks to Jeanne d'Arc and Seger , the World in Flames thread has been revived with TWO new and ongoing territory wars! First, the Lone Warriors RP is a combination of WW1 and WW2, with playable countries like Finland, Japan, Germany and Prussia etc. You can sign up as there are still role play characters left: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/10999/lone-warriors-rp.
Secondly, the Modern War America RP at european-war-4.boards.net/thread/11039/modern-world-america is expected to start after the Lone Warriors, featuring a hypothetical Current War between many countries with the exception of the USA. Many vacant slots, so if you want to reserve a character first it is on a first come first serve basis!
If you have no idea what a RP is, or what I am even talking about, this thread by NetherFreek really clears things up and gets people interested: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/3739/tutorial-tws. I am in both RPs mentioned, so if you are keen I will be seeing you there!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are not aware of the two threads, Historical Guessing Game (http://european-war-4.boards.net/thread/7790/historical-guessing-game?page=97&scrollTo=214251) and Geography Game 2 (http://european-war-4.boards.net/thread/7510/geography-game-2?page=89&scrollTo=214489), you are unfortunately living under a rock! In these quirky mini-quizzes and games, you can broaden your understanding and knowledge of the world, and learn fun trivia along with interacting with members! I am in both threads too, so it is very active and you can participate daily.
May the force be with you as you visit CountVonNumenor 's post: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/10918/star-wars-game-easytech. Here he requests for a new Star Wars based game to be made by EasyTech, where painstakingly done up details and suggestions are stated. If you are an ardent star wars fan, do check this thread out to show your support!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you know that the WC4 Forum is more popular than the EW6 forum now? Here, NetherFreek has provided us with some statistics:
As you can see from the Pie Chart, WC4 was the most popular game before the release of EW6. WC4 was released, as per google play for android users, on the 13th of October 2017, whilst EW6 was released on GP on the 25th of May 2018. From 2017 to 2018, WC4 is shown here at 57% visitorship, more than four times EW5's visitorship where it was the second most recent game then, released on the 23rd of November 2016. This introduces the trend of popularity of newer games.
But if we look back to the chart posted earlier in this newsletter, one would notice an anomaly. Now, the popularity of GCR over EW6 is only twice it, but surprisingly WC4 and EW6 are experiencing about the same viewership, in fact WC4 has surpassed EW6 by one percent! One has to ponder, why has WC4 become so popular, even more so than recent games? Why does it not follow the set trend that seems so reasonable and logical? We invite you to express your thoughts and views about this in this thread: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/11249/opinions-recent-popularity-wc4, and the best responses will be featured in the newsletter's next edition! Look forward to hearing from you all!
Modding Community Rejoice! EW6 Unlocked!
Among many other fun mods from various games such as WC3 & WC4 in the Gaming Modifications section in the forum, a big news has come up, that is EW6 has been unlocked and new EW6 mods are ready to be rolled out soon! As quoted by our friendly Administrator:
" The unlock file/apk is what allows a game to be modded. With an unlocked EW6 modders can create new mods for that game."
Personally, I have no idea what an unlock meant and am thankful for saltin to helping me clear it up! For experienced modders, you will know what this means, and will probably rush to your Desktop or you Laptop to start coding away. If you do not know what I am talking about, you may like to give modding a try, and step by step tips are available in the Gaming Modifications section, or if you'd like you can expect really cool EW6 mods to be produced soon for you to enjoy playing!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How well do you know your fellow forum Moderators? Are you aware of their duties? Are you motivated to become one? In this month's random feature, which can be anything under the sun from forum features, to real life discussions, and fun trivia introductions. Today, we will be getting to know who makes our forum tick and run along with the help of the Administrator.
Mountbatten? Officer's Lounge and Presentation and Polls. Best75? EW6, Other Games of Interest and World in Flames. Calgary Flames? Gaming Modifications and GOG1. If you are wondering, I got this from the main page of the forum that shows you the moderators for each forum section, but there's definitely more than that as to how well you know your friendly neighbourhood moderators.
To start off, moderators like Nobunaga Oda can only moderate, i.e. edit, delete posts, lock posts, pin posts etc. their own assigned boards. Global moderators like kanue can moderate any board under their jurisdiction. All these are mainly for ensuring that the forum rules are enforced, and that the community can run smoothly with their help. Moderators can help set up rules threads, beginners guides, announce news, start a records thread, gathering gaming guides and many other roles.
For GCR, there are no clear moderators yet, and it is possible that there will be a new one specifically under GCR very soon.
So, how does one become a moderator? Fortunately, even though its the same criteria, its way easier to become a moderator than to join the Illuminati group, which will be featured as a post on Groups in the forum with the next newsletter, so do catch that if you want to. Anyways, as Mountbatten helped to advise,
"Being active and helpful to the membership in both the game boards and the regular boards while following the community rules. Moderators are hand picked for the position by the existing team."
Thus, as long as you meet that criteria, there will always be online members to decide your suitability as a staff member in the future. It is possible to become one, as I have personally witnessed Nobunaga Oda transform from a helpful WC4 board member with a Darth Vader rank to a Moderator (not wc4 since it wasn't his main game) during my time in the forum. Hence, if you have a strong passion in serving the community, there might be a new moderator slot that you can look out for.
Many of our moderators are actually adults, and we can assume that many are already having to balance work or studies with giving back to the forum community and keeping it in check. Thus, if you have noticed it is not always that they can notice every one of your posts, answer every question, not make errors, or have the time to fulfill your requests. Personally, I feel that I have been too demanding with NetherFreek for uploading my WC4 world records on the relevant thread as soon as possible.
We can all show our appreciation to the forum staff that keep this place together and running through many simple actions, including showing more understanding and having some respect for their contributions. Every one of us play a vital role in the continuation of this forum which once started out as a small fan base. I hope that you would have gained an insight into the moderator system after reading this, and will not only get to know them better, but also work with them to make everyone's experience more meaningful.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every newsletter, we will be featuring some members in the forum that have left a striking impression on the editorial team, made significant contributions or have been selected by the quiz or discussion answers. To get the ball rolling, I will feature three WC4 Board members since we do not have an actual editorial team that can help me get members from more boards, so don't give up hope yet!
1) jonblend
Although having started out in WC4 not long ago, this member has made it a point to contribute significantly to the community by making many quality guides of various campaigns. From a quick count, this member has done up 13 guides in less than a month! It is thanks to him that the World Conqueror 4 Library has many new guides to be added and to offer. Therefore, he has left a very strong impression on me and I wish him all the best in his future of helpful contributions to the forum!
2) acridbrimistic
It is a rare sight that a new member's first post is a guide. Usually, it would be a question or a comment (my first one was a guide on 1939 Romania, but it is rare admittedly). This member has continuously done up 4 guides, and if you underestimate the number do check out one of his very comprehensive guides here: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/10960/soviet-union-1939-guide?page=1&scrollTo=210438. His guides are very easy and pleasing to read, with specific details and suggestions that make his guides useful and significant. Furthermore, he sometimes does very in-depth analysis of topics like damage calculators and defense mechanisms in WC4, something that regular players miss out or overlook. He has been offline for some time now, but we do hope that he comes back soon to continue his awesome contributions!
3) ustyno92
Last but not the least, we have a new member who upon joining the forum, has destroyed the 1980 least cities record in WC4 many times over. Bringing the record down from 70 plus to 55 cities, then savagely to 17 cities, it has been a colossal feat. If this member does the exact same for a speed run record, he can easily apply to join the World's Fastest Conqueror Group, and I will have to start worrying about my own records too! Hence, do show this uprising member with a huge potential to turn the tables of WC4 records around with your support!

News Ticker! Read more here: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/11143/tips-news-ticker
Notice the news in the picture is not so new? As such, saltin is gathering feedback and news suggestions from everyone in the forum in order to refresh this news feature! Simply suggest a 10 words or less news line (e.g. GCR Event Winner List is Out!) to the administrator, but make sure it is relevant to everyone, and also include a short explanatory write-up of your choice of content in your suggestion to him. Together we can make the news feature relevant again!

_Great Conqueror Rome_
If you have not noticed, the newest EasyTech game has been released! It has been made available for IOS last month, and for Android just yesterday. Hence, if you are willing to give it a try, do go ahead as it is accessible on many platforms in various countries! Here's a quick description of the game:
Costing USD$0.73, the game is based on Rome with commanders from the canon of warfare, Caesar, Spartacus, Hannibal, Pompey and countless more. Multiple campaign missions with historical and immersive storylines, a personal buildable base and exciting conquests, this game combines elements from others like EW6 and WC4 into a fresh, new and unique package. I am not going to reveal too much, instead for those who have yet to download, why not give it a try?
Here are some comments and views from current GCR players:
Deleted : "Gonna be frustrating the first try, unless your intuition guided you to the light.".
Like all games, it takes some getting used to before you can comfortably master it.
Colonel James E. Ross : "I don't know about you guys but the new rome game doesn't look too amazing as it's hyped up to be. It may just be me being too used to the game genre but I'm not that hyped for the new theme either."

Józef Poniatowski : "It has SO MUCH DEPTH! You can name units.
The combat looks lovely, but the way damage works is as convoluted as ever.
Generals look B A D A S S!
Damage numbers are generally higher like in EW5, but with EW4 style general leveling. I think it lives up to the hype, at least for me."
Whether one likes the theme or context, it is all personal
preference. Not familiar with Roman history? Neither do many players, but it is the game concept and features that make it appealing and fun for them.
FYI: Unsurprisingly, GCR is the most popular forum here as of now. It follows the trend of popularity with new games, and when you post in GCR you can expect to get it viewed and answered pretty quickly. So it is also an advantage for beginners who can share tips together, unlike where you start to play a game like GOG2 and the hype has since been long gone. Below is a pie chart that NetherFreek helped to display. One notable trend is how WC4 surpassed EW6 in terms of popularity! More on that later on.

Today's featured random topic: Moderators

Rules: New quiz question every month about something in the forum, just type your answers in this thread: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/11051/quick-poll-on-forum-feature, and the first 3 correct members will be featured in the next month's newsletter! Only one answer per member, i.e. if you get it wrong you have used up your chance. For this July's question, the Admin and the staff (e.g. mods), and pioneers are not allowed to answer as it would be too easy.
Here goes: In one post, tell us 1) who created the forum originally 2) how is the forum run free without paying for a host. Here are the clues: 1) It is someone you know very well 2) Name 3 details that allow for a ProBoards forum to be run for free.
Happy answering, and we look forward to the first 3 members!

Thanks for Reading the 1st Edition of The EasyTech Fan Monthly Digest!
We have come to the end of our very first newsletter for the forum! We sincerely hope you have enjoyed this edition, and admittedly it is not perfect, so we passionately welcome any suggestions, comments or feedback from you guys! Just post them in this thread: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/11051/quick-poll-on-forum-feature, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. I will be offline the next week due to a pre-study trip workshop, and thus will announce the staff system.
[/div] Fancy writing? Have a lot of ideas and opinions to share? Want to be a part of this awesome community? Or would you like your own chance at contributing in our very own forum newsletter? Well, here is the perfect chance for I am starting up an editorial department for this newsletter, since I may not always be free every month. To start off, I will be the head of department ( owners rights), and since he has a very keen interest and he is the first to respond, I announce Deleted as my Editorial Chief, so when I am not around he will be the team leader. Many of you also expressed your interest, and if you would like to apply do so in this thread: european-war-4.boards.net/thread/11158/editorial-department-needed-easytech-newletter.
This newsletter took 7 hours to do up, including sourcing information and seeking permission. Hence, I figure there will be only a need for 5 more members including Deleted and I to finish the newsletter as efficiently as possible, but if there's a need I can shorten the list or allow for more members.
Wish you all a fruitful July, signing off!
Yours sincerely,
Bing Crosby
Quick thanks to Saltin, all the interviewees and all those featured for making this newsletter possible!
