It's a similar thread to what I did last year when EW6 came out (http://european-war-4.boards.net/thread/9060/disaster-EW6) . After EW4, I just could not play a game anymore without making me more angry then before, when the whole purpose is to relax you. But God, I feel so pissed. I always feel like the AI is cheating, I do not understand how things work and I end up losing in the most ember rasing ways. Even with what you say "practice until you succeed", I just can't get to my objective. I really miss the easy conquests you could make in EW4, and the fact there were no complicated Troop fighting mechanics like weapons and armour type. Just attack and defence. For me, even GCR became unfortunately just a game that it's funny to watch someone playing it, but not actually playing it by yourself unless it's modded and more beginner-friendly (which I noticed it's a trăit missing from most recent games like WC4, EW6 and now this one) In short, I'm a disaster at GCR.

Did you end up not playing ew6 or did you eventually get stuck in to it? If it was the latter of these two than I wouldn't worry. New games don't seem as fun with so much to learn. That's how I felt about ew6 too but i enjoyed playing it for a long amount of time when I got used to things.

Just do daily missions and wait until the experimented players go further in the game. There will be threads about almost everything, so try to have patience. Repetiția e mama învățăturii. ☺

If your stuck somewhere play easy conquests and if you struggle with conquest here a few tips: For combat use your inf to attack archers, defend your archers and attack cities, use your cav to attack inf and to be fast and use archer to do damage on cav and inf. It also helps to donate a lot to neutral countries who otherwise would join the enemy, in de first conquest is this the country next to rome

Agreed. The conquest pissed me off a lot at first. But after you get a hang of it, it becomes fun. It's similar to early game of EW6 conquest : Units reign supreme, generals are just strong units that would only survive with other units. The thing with the conquest is that it punishes you quite hard if you make a mistake early on the conquest. Relying on your allies and making sure they survive is the name of the game, until you have stronger gens. And even then, the lack of healing items makes you rely on having a group of units, rather than letting your generals run around, while having a back up militia to capture cities. Playing EW6 end game conquest then immediately jumping on the conquest of GCR is not my best idea .

The apparent lack of being able to grind medals anymore, and tiny graphics to me are the biggest negatives, this is more like WC series, and I am used to ew4 and 6. Why on earth did they go with smaller graphics? Hurts my eyes. Also, like mention, not a big fan of bubbles, hard to see,I preferred the green ring around the flag.
