Firstl, I'd like to apologise as I'm sure there are many similar threads like this related to generals. I have 595 and no generals already. I'm on the 3rd mission in the 3rd campaign and have grinded out everything a can to get these medals. (Though I'm sure I'm able to muster up the 40 or so medals should someone recommend one of the expensive generals.) Should I buy 1 strong one or two weaker ones and who? Advice would be appreciated.

Pacorus I - Your first buy. He'll give You a possibility to progress campaign much further and buy top general as a second purchase.

Mithridates got me all the way to the Gallic Wars where you can buy Antony then. Mithridates is for sheer output while Antony is the perfect scout and spearhead for your maneuvers. Either way I wish you luck in your choice!😁

My first two elite generals will be Pompey and Mithridates. But I personally agree with an option that Pompey might be the best first general. After 20 of daily missions are completed - you will receive a flag which improves two of his skills. It is a great advantage at the beginning of the game. You will greatly increase his movement and survivability. Exactly what you need right now.

Good job. I would buy an expensive one as you can afford it anyway.
Good options:
Ver, Pompey (I personally got him first), Arminious, Anthony, Mih IV. I would recommend not getting mih iv as your first though.
I think anthony is just as good as pompey to start with, just because he is really fast and quite strong

Cavalry and infantry would be a better first choice, although a strong archer will prove useful afterwards.
