Skills are to be reset independently if You wish. Scrolls are not refunded if done. Regarding the infantry commander skills... it depends on Your team, and playstyle You are going to use. Haven't decided for myself yet, but: 1. Infantry commander 2. Roar 3. March look as a must have skills. 4. Either Ambush, Counterattack or maybe even Intercept (depends on how difficult archer enemies we'll face further in the game) Counterattack is probably better as infantry in case You are going to use him as a meatshield heavily.

Terrain could be good too I think it's better to add hybrid skill to commander to suit all categories of units. Because we can change ability easily with 5000 golds but change the skill is a pain.

Was also thinking about it. The downside is that he will be mediocre in that case. And I doubt You will change his abilities even though it is cheap, as there are plenty of good generals in each specialization. And Free Commander's auras are anyway applicable all the time for each unit whether Commander is hybrid or specialized.

Hmm. I think you are right. PF, Counterattack, March, and Siege would really be great skills on any unit. Any general with these skills will deal above average damage against any unit (like an infantry attacking a cavarly unit for example). Or PF, Counterattack, Hide, Siege If you really want a strong general. Main downside is that you won’t be able to attack twice very often.

I imagine it would be a very useful niche (in conquest) to have a general that can run really fast and crack the undefended city wall in one go (just like PMI in World Conqueror), and have another fast general to capture it.

Needs testing. It could happen that having ram with a strong general is sufficient to crack the city fortification so Siege skill would be excessive. Right now (in the conquests we have) even highest tier city fortifications are cracked in two rounds. Lower tier can be cracked in one if Destroy tactics card used. Some even without ram.
