So can we say that centurion shield (%15 Hp item) is better than scale armor(7 def item)?

Just like put Augustus helmet on vertigorix with max senate defence buff and put him on legion= a moving Gibraltar with extremely dangerous weapon. Dragon shield would be better. While being 50 medals cheaper it also requires Marshall. %25 Hp increase seems better than %18 hp increase + 12 def

Just remember that fires and plague hp deals damage based on total health,so be careful when you let a general with a +hp item defend a city that is on fire + plague

Some practical tests with Scale Armor, Pompeii Gladius and Crossbow. Pompey attacks a cataphract Average damage received ("Shield wall" excluded): Scale Armor - 42.88 Gladius - 44.60 Crossbow - 44.90 Average damage delivered (critical damage included): Scale Armor - 104.44 Gladius - 119.30 Crossbow - 112.72 Pompey attacks Cassius Average damage received ("Shield wall" excluded): Scale Armor - 92.75 Gladius - 94.08 Crossbow - 95.81 Average damage delivered (critical damage included): Scale Armor - 122.37 Gladius - 135.91 Crossbow - 145.72 So, I can only confirm kanue's theoretical calculations: Defence items are not especially effective. PS. Critical rate and high moral of units are interdependent.

yuanzhong might be right, actually. Critical damage of units with high moral is more frequent than it is on paper. So, Pompey attacking Cassius with a crossbow has 25% of probability, but in fact it is far more frequent... Maybe, high moral adds another 10% to it.

Hope there're more players have Huo or face him in battle in future updates. Huo's strength will be revealed more clearly, Huo (with crossbow and high morale - it's easy with high tier 4 or 5 units Cavalry legion) with unique Han's Cavalry (with decrease enemy defence when attacking ability) is one of scariest opponents of our non-archer units IMO.

I am pretty sure You and stoic are looking at this question from the tail. Higher crit rate is not because of morale but because of attack (which is increased/decreased due to morale). I mean the higher Your attack -> higher chance to crit (as it exceeds some hidden level of delivered damage) It is not connected to higher crit of Huo or any other gen with high crit rate item or talent. Your base crit is higher due to high morale (as it increases the attack) with every gen. There is no any additional specific advantage or mechanics particularly for Huo.

Just don't let non archer units engage him unless it's to surround him . Also, no one doubts Huo's strength(except maybe andrei), but if we compare all of the cavalry gens, he's like a weaker Hannibal. He's not as mobile as Antony, and he may be slightly better than Arminius in terms of damage. I'll let my archer commander and Cleopatra deal with him if ever it comes down to it, and surround him with auxiliary infantry while setting the tile he is on fire for good measure .

I am not saying he is bad. It is valid choice. I am just trying to explain to yuanzhong that Huo has no any additional hidden specific mechanics raising his crit rate. Imo it is obvious and.. ridiculous. All the gens are under same game mechanics laws. And their crit rate is only what it is described. yuanzhong is still sure Huo has something special

No, it is literally more frequent. Just give a crossbow to Pompey and attack someone when your moral is high. I was really surprised to see results. At least, every third attack is a critical one. But there is truth in what you are saying as well. If Arminius with high moral will attack an Infantry unit when fighting in forests - his critical damage will be higher than that of Huo.

That's what I am trying to say. That's why I was a bit surprised when You say yuanzhong is right as he is saying completely opposite. He says it is due to specific Huo's set of skills/talent which can't be true as different gens damage can't be calculated with different mechanics.

I mean that yuanzhong might be right when he is speaking about frequency of critical attacks, but there is a difference between frequency of critical attacks and their power. Some tests are needed, but, maybe, powerful critical attacks are more useful than frequent ones. Yet, the frequency of critical attacks and high moral are tight close together, I believe...
