Hey guys, I wanted to make a thread for the cheap general god squad. Here it goes.
Purpose: for the price of pompey, you can have 6 pacorus i’s (if only they existed). Quantity > Quality when starting gcr (plus negligible (if any) medal loss). *warning, do not upgrade the skills of the generals that the stronger ones that you will end up purchasing have. Knock yourselves out with skills like escorting).
Ideal Rank: Chilliarch (aim for generals at this rank, it has the benefit of not having to wait another turn for a tier 3 unit).
Item suggestions: pompey gladius or crossbow. I recommend the gladius, as it is the equivalent of making a general with lvl 6 infantry, lvl 9 infantry!
Infantry:
- Cassius (op talent, chilliarch, good skills - give ambush flag to and upgrade ambush on (unless you plan on buying ver, who imo you won’t need even with no iaps).
- Segestes (op talent (on inf and cav), good skills, dirt cheap) *do not upgrade his skills but give jungle flag to once you have it*
Cavarly:
- Dellius (chilliarch, op talent, lvl 7 cavarly, hybrid potential). Varus has cav commander at lvl 1, which can make a great difference at times, but dellius has a better talent. Both of varus’ skills, although definitely are good, are at lvl 1 and really weak. Great support for pacorus i.
- Pacorus I (very op talent, guerilla, lvl 7 cavarly potential). Pacorus I is a very strong cavarly commander really early on. With the aid of Dellius, you can give pacorus the raid flag instead of guerilla, the guerilla going to Cassius. With a pompey gladius, pacorus has to potential to be lvl 9+ cav ability. Huge damage plus the significant morale decline caused by dellius makes him a mandatory candidate
Archers:
- Pedius: (op talent plus torch, a trash skill aching to be given our torch flags and scrolls to for the missions... that’s all he needs though) Pedius is a very good general early on as he has the rumor skill and can attack with no retaliation. The best archer general to purchase (price performance wise) all the way up to Cleo.
- Trebonius: (march, cheapest general in the game, decent skills) this general, is honestly terrible but has potential. But he has march. With the march/shield wall flag, he will gain an additional hex movement in conquest. Unfortunately, he is much worse in campaigns where you will have to give him + 1 mobility boots for to take advantage of march. Or you can make the sacrifice and part with 2 march scrolls (costing 90 medals in total). But as most buy pompey as there first serious general, trebonius will lose the march flag, making him as either faster but weaker than pedius, or as slow as pedius, without pedius’ talent in both scenarios). I advise savoring both the march scrolls.
Summary: trebonius will be a faster pedius in conquest with the march flag, dealing equal damage per hit). In campaigns, he can be faster than pedius but will lose a skill slot as upgrading his march to lvl 2 is unrecommended). He will deal less damage than pedius.
You have all 6? What then? I advise farming the crap out of every medal source in the game till you can afford pompey. Repeat the procees tor anthony. Repeat process again for Arminius or Huo.
