Today I make some calculations to count the medals we need to fully upgrade our commander and find out a different way to rate Generals base on the approximate number of medals we need to upgrade - from a Centurion Commander without skill - to that General. In example, how many medals we need to get Our centurion commander to be a copy of Caesar? Base on this “Cost of skill scrolls” we can count the number of skill scrolls, and the medals needed to have the skill set of any general: March -45 Inf/Cav/Arch Commanders -45 Plain/Urban fighting -35 Guerilla/Ambush -35 Besiege -35 Counterattack -35 Helmsman/Charge/Intercept/Accuracy -25 Roar/Advantage/Assault/Sailor -25 Siege -25 Shieldwall -25 Formation/Breakthrough/Marksman -25 Jungle/Mountain fighting -15 Raid/Escort -15 Torch/Destroy -15 Rain of arrows -15 Hide -15 Tunnel -15 And base on this “Cost of ranks” we can count the medals needed to get our commander to the rank of any general: Chilliarch -90 Legatus -150 General -245 Marshal -380 Consul -575 For some skills, we can count the approximate number of medals needed base on “Cost of items” Geography = Gallic war = 165 medals Inspire = Laurel crown = 215 medals Inf/Arch/Cav Master = Consul’s scepter = 500 medals Fireproof = Pharaoh’s scepter = 65 medals Arch/Inf/Cav tactics = 2/3 Crossbow = 3300 gold = approximately 44 medals (base on the cost to purchase gold using medal in the shop, it’s approximately 1 medal = 75 gold) Easy tech they rated all for us, base on the number of medals needed, right?

No way you can consider talent as item. You must use your only item slot to get "talent effect" item instead of other useful item. Medals cannot compensate that lost

yuanzhong, I mean we can count the approximate number of medals to upgrade a “Centurion Commander without skill” to be a copy of each general, so we know is it cost efficiency or not, how much the efficiency is when we buy a general... I don’t consider talent as item, just count how much to get that talent if the commander have noon. It’s like a “Medal standard system” to assess the value of each general , like this: Octavian: cost 645, +34 dam, talent Archer tactic, general Accuracy2, Counterattack3, Archercommande2, Besiege4. So it’s (90+150+245) + (25*3+35*7+45*3+35*13) + 44 = 1469 medals to upgrade a Centurion commander to be a copy of him, we only pay 645 to have him, it’s 1469-645= 824 medals cheaper. For Pacorus, it’s 98 medals for +28 dam, talent Inspire = 215 medals, his skills guerilla1 + raid1 = 50 medals, his rank Centurion dont cost any. So 98 to get a man equal to 265, it’s very very cost efficiency.

And I realize that all of the other skill that not have an equivalent item is just sux, they may have some effects but not really big enough. And why we have to assess the effectiveness of skills when Easy tech did it for us base on the medals needed to get each skill scrolls?

Most cost effective generals in the game are those that have a commander skills or march at a very high level, and are generals. I think Mark Anthony or Pompey are. Agrippa is also a very strong price performer.

Yeah, I know they trick us sometimes ,maybe they put Besiege skill that high cost to prevent someone become so strong, or maybe it’s just a small mistake of the typing guy because they tend to put the same price to skills of the same kind, that’s why helmsman scroll cost us that much. This version of GCR we cannot grind so I always think twice before hiring a general, doing the maths is somewhat annoying but in GCR even 10 medals a big problem with me... In EW6 I can spend some hundreds medals to test something, this skill good or not, this general handsome or not... but with GCR it’s like Oops, 20 medals, fckin expansive...

After some mathematic works, the best cost efficiency generals of each tier are the known ones: Pacorus for bronze, Cleo and Drusus for silver, and Pompey and Antony for gold.
Pacorus: 98 for 265 (37%) Cleo: 389 for 1260 (she has aura talent so it’s 1260) ~31% Drusus: 542 for 965 (56%) Pompey: 600 for 1439 (41.7%) Antony: 628 for 1630 (38.5%) Octavian: 645 for 1469 (44%)

It is a bit tricky though I think with calculating the price performance with generals in this game. Especially considering that having a geography talent may seem like it is only 100ish medals looking at the gallic warbook, but that only means you can have an additional great item in that slot. Maybe take for the tactics skills, take the price of the golden spear and divide it by 3 maybe. Its basically a pompey gladius + a mainz gladius + a crossbow, so 3 in one. For cleo also, I think that her massive price performance comes from the simple consul sceptre. I also don’ t think that is accurate, as the consul sceptre works everywhere, whether you are at sea or on any unit, but the talent only works specifically in one situation. Plus the consul sceptre is 500 medals. Probably she deserves a price performance of 37% or 38%, which is still massive. Overall, nice findings. Greatly appreciated!

His skill lvls are pretty high, at least for the skills that matter

Thank you to show me the inappropriate points, I also think the calculations a bit tricky... well, my calculations just let us know how much cheaper the general is, not his performance in the game, maybe they have some relations, but yeah, “cost efficiency” and “good performance” are not the same, something cheap doesn’t mean that it’s good. I agree with what you say about Cleo, she deserves 37-38%, I just love her so much coz I have her in my team and she’s the one and only nonIAP with an aura talent. The tactics skill made me feel very tricky, we just can’t have an accurate calculation, only approximately calculating... and so many talents don’t have an equivalent item like Arminius’s Garrison, Mithridates’ Scare... This is a game of situations, any general is good if put on the right way, right situation, and if “fully upgraded” I’m a lazy one and I hate to do the mathematic works, but with GCR it’s a very very big problem when you want to upgrade the skills and rank of your generals, so I think there r some meanings calculating. deleted , I prefer Octavian to Mithridate, Octavian has a Besiege level 4, that cost so much. However, cheaper doesn’t mean better...

The skills and rank of Mithridates cost 1145 medals, and it’s 605 for 1150-1200, it’s 52.6-50.4%. Surprisingly, Labienus of the silver tier comes with a price of 486 for 955, ~50.9%... more cost-efficient than Drusus.
