Not excited, it's the end of the Republic . Well, I see, at least, two positive signs 1. The end of the Republic is not the end of Rome. So, we can expect further Roman campaigns. 2. A clash of the titans "China vs. World power number 1" is still ahead of us. Ha ha, in all possible meanings

Ha ha, in all possible meanings Yeah, but Roman Republic=Peak Rome Because they had no real enemy besides Parthia in that era and there were countless slaves from conquests and war booty to fuel the economy. When conquests stopped slave economy collapsed. Plagues and civil wars decemated population, Christianity made the empire "soft" and barbarians became noumerous and strong, don't think the Republic could handle with that problems better.

It's not Christianity's fault . The empire collapsed due to military revolts and the political reforms that reduced the power of the senate. Moreover at the time of the Severi dinasty we can notice the beginning of the decadence . They were indeed barbarians acclaimed by the oriental province of Syria that were scared by the color of their skins , willing to be real romans their self. They ruled good though, but the army ruined the empire . Constantine saw the Christians were obtaining the highest academic desks in Greece and all over the empire , proving to be the real "witty society" of that time. Bishops were more efficient than statal justice due to the better cultural education and they were even more rich than local administrations . Christianity according to Mommsen did not make the Empire collapse and he was damn right .

True. It was Vercingetorix and Arminius’ descendants that collapsed the empire. Atilla the Hun especially.
Roman Republic was the peak of their military expansion I agree. But roman empire was where lots of technological innovations occured like the arch, concrete, and advanced sewer systems

But roman empire was where lots of technological innovations occured like the arch, concrete, and advanced sewer systems I wouldn't say their descendants collapsed the empire, they simply made it clear and official that it collapse. The empire was already collapsing, they just gave it a little push . As for the Republic, best way of governing, but since they really didn't have a strong goal to uphold and most of the officials were easily bribed, it was easy to see why it collapsed. We can copy what they did and just make some changes.

Plus he was like 70 at the time. Really romans?
