If anyone has recently completed this I'd be very grateful for some advice. I have huo, Pompey, Mithridates, an infantry general, Cleopatra, pacorus and trebonious. The double morale drop is helpful from destroying the navy targets but I find there to be too much of the enemy to beat the mission in time. Mabye the trick is to avoid doing certain things so reinforcements don't come.

Don't know if there are tricks but I was able to get 3 stars (no IAPs) despite facing all enemy reinforcements. You should capture the closest enemy city in 3 turns, upgrade it to level 5 and replenish elite troops. Then send back the legionary to your coastal city to protect it against the enemy navy. Don't split the rest of your troops. Take Methone first, and then go for the third target city.

Pathing wise
Ignore the nearest enemy city Take the level 4 city next to methone. Take methone Circle back to take enemy city closest to you.
Navy wise, there are two enemy generals. You will have to take out one. Your allied Agrippa will take out the other if you take out another which will lead to a morale boost for you (?) and he will Attack the closest enemy city.
Killing the land enemy Calvary general will also lead to Anthony sending some reinforcements. Just don’t do both triggers and you be fine.
(?) : can’t recall whether it’s a boost for you or a morale drop for the enemy.

For the sake of those without iaps
Take first city. Defend coastal city and kill enemy navy general.
Take level 4 city beside methone. Enemy Calvary general should be attacking the first level 4 city at this point in time. Defend with your general on swordsman and upgrade city to 5 to replenish
Surround and kill off enemy units during double morale drop. Enemy reinforcements will Attack level 4 city beside methone and first city.
All generals Attack methone while spamming infantry and swordsman to defend city beside methone.

This is far to hard in my opinion. In order to defend the first city you capture you need basically your entire army. The enemy reinforcements will just keep on coming. The troops not stationed where they can be replenished will die, before the whole city is over run. The only way I see this being possible if you haven't spent money is to avoid the city.

Send the entire army to capture the nearest city and upgrade it to lvl 5. 3. Send 1 elite unit to assist your slingers to defeat the inf commander blue target while you let your Swordsman commander hold the lvl 5 city. 4. Send your remaining troops to attack the SE city. Once both naval blue targets are defeated, take advantage of the morale drop to wipe out the garrison and take the SE city. 5. Send the troops from your coastal city to the lvl 5 city to defeat the cav gen blue target. Spam slingers and march them southward. 6. Dismantle the Residential Area to build a 2nd port at the SE city and spam slingers. 7. Prevent the enemy reinforcements from landing and attack Methone. I highly recommend doing this when you have 6 gens at least and lvl 7 upgrades for all units. I used Cav Commander (with only lvl 3 Assault and Cav Commander skills), Octavian, Drusus, Pompey, Crassus and Pacorus.

The initial offensive + defence. Marching onwards while the swordsman guards the city. Spam slingers to block the coast and sink the enemy ships. Don't forget to block the south coast! The enemy does land elites there as well. The battle to Methone/Modon. The fall of Methone/Modon.

Done as far as possible. Since I had extra Knowledge/Scolls, I used Plague on Methone/Modon.
