Still looks like Italy has had a terrible army since 1798. Nice job on the conquest! The marmont on line infantry in 1809 does not help haha. At least he can finally use his fence skill!

They shouldn't haven't even added fence to being Calvary general. Plus Naples should have been collation in 1815 due to Marmont's execution after his failed attack in Austria.

I think you are confusing marmont with murat haha. Brain fart. Napoleon had a huge amount of Marshalls(I believe 26) which is huge and is why Napoleon got great Victorys and the core system.

Also I spam Elite Guards as they are the hardest hitting units, and Heavy Cavarly as they move 1 hex more than Horse Grenadiers. Imo they seem to be the most effective spam units I don't spam till I upgarde all my city's, after that I spam all my generals and finally I spam grenadiers due to being fully in formation. In my experience, double formation guards are generally more effective than triple grenadiers.

For spamming (to clean up forts) I use single grenadiers - five single grenadiers cost (925) still less than two triple grenadiers (940) or two double guards (1070) As the formation factors are (5/7, 6/7, 7/7) comparing the output you will have 5*5/7 compare to 2*7/7 it's a 25:14 for the single ones - and with more units you quickly can flank.

I just finished the game once and I'm on restart - I don't want to gain rank and experience for now. My hints for you - if you have sakurake - try her (she is fantastic - believe me - specially in the beginning!!!!) If you don't have her, try the new US 1775 guide here from Erich von Manstein (starving out GB)! Depending on rank/epx and campaign progress you even can get Lan there with just one trader.

O yes, the supply tatic. When fighting a enemy you send Calvary to take the farms so the enemy will lose morale quickly. For neutral nations you take there farms and wait for them to be in chaos and then you attack.

The guide from Erich von Manstein is so nice because your only thread - GB is in panic after R8 - it takes time, but with cheap militia you get rid of GB without getting one counterattack - and the starting generals are managing the rest - I will post my further comments there.
