Good day chaps! I've been using the forum for a while but never got to registering (I blame laziness,) so here I am! Anyways, I'm aiming for either Arnold or Dowding as my next general, but to finalize, I have a question:
Does Arnold's rumour work on air force battles? Like using strategic bombers on a unit and rumour activates?

Nope, only works when he's used for direct fire. Otherwise you would be able to rumor literally every general from a single airport. And welcome to the forums! Hope you stay and become an active member  |

Welcome to the forum buddy! justaconquerorforfun, I personally bought Arnold first as he is a great supporting general with solid air stats, strong rumor to stun enemy generals and I put crowd tactics on him to boost my other offensive generals too. Dowding's resource boost is not mandatory for completing the game as I have not used him for the aforementioned reason. However, resource generals like him is crucial for speed runs especially if you want to enter the wc4 record breaking scene |

Alrighty, will keep that in mind! But the reason why i'm looking for a more passive general, is simply because I have too many focused on offense.
My current gens are: Meese, Guderian, Leeb, Konev, Nimitz, Rommel and Rundstedt. Guderian is also heavily upgraded with maximum Rumour and Blitzkrieg.
Will definitely get Arnold soon after Dowding, though!

you could try out a naval general next, two are very helpful especially in 1980. I recommend Donitz since he is definitely the best submarine general in the game. Give him rumor and his offensive skills, together with wolfpack, will make clearing those insanely hard 12 medal navy missions possible. He will not be able to have explosives though, thats why you still need nimitz for your cruisers
