How do you guys beat the first Prussian mission?

Take Vienna ASAP. Don’t do anything else. The austrians gets hit by a triple morale debuff to all their units, completely neutralizing their entire army. After that you just go after the other austrian target city.
Don’t worry about Bavaria. There will be a large italian allied reinforcement wave near Bavaria.

I tried that the first 4 times, and I didn’t get that to work. I decided to buy hindenburg artillery general and I was able to win, but a different way. I sent the entire army left then down taking the non-objective cities. Once I killed the french client state, the italians had come in and killed bavaria. Then all units swarmed vienna and the last objective city with 3 rounds to spare.
