Not terrible anymore. Manuever is replaced by surprise, he will be moltke. Jungle fighting is replaced by counterattack, he will be like an expensive moltke. He is not horrible as there are far worse generals out there. He isn’t amazing either. 3.5/5 stars. Not unredeemablr garbage anymore. That title belongs to sherman haha. I’m picky when it comes to skills. However, if I go easy on Mackensen and let him have Inspiration, then I would consider getting him. All I have to do is replace Maneuver and Counterattack with Edge and Surprise Attack. He will become Moltke with Inspiration. Then again, Inspiration isn’t a game-changing skill and Mackensen would be hardly different than Moltke. But since Moltke is free, it’s essentially wasting resources. Although if given the medal it’s a nice support skill because it triggers in a relatively consistent way. |

Now that Johnston is not as relevant anymore I replaced him with Mackensen. Probably not the best idea but hey at least we have Mackensen Mackensen has 1 perfect skill, 1 very good skill, 1 mediocre skill (That becomes good if given the medal), 1 bad skill and 1 useless skill. Johnston has 2 perfect skills, 1 very good skill and 2 bad skills. Johnston is still better than Mackensen. Mackensen is saved from unworthy because Inspiration at Level 6 is a good skill. Yes, I know Johnston is still better but Mackensen is speed (Jungle+Mountain) Also because of favouritism I bought Mackensen. Mackensen might be used for history missions too (though unlikely) |

Much better in 1804. Now, not that great. Has a number of better replacements, many of whom are the same price or cheaper.
