MacClellan isn't great irl but he is still somewhat capable as he dealt about 20,000 casualties to Lee in the Seven Days Battles while only suffering about 16,000. While 'Retreat from the Isonzo and open the gates to Austria' Hotzendorf and 'Attack the same river 12 times' Cadorna is laughable when compared with McClellan McClellan was capable and not absolutely trash, but still overrated in this game. Cadorna was a joke just like Hotzendorf, visions of grandeur. Esperey on the other hand, under rated in my opinion d'Esperey, the man who got the Prussia of the east out of the war: worse than Luigi Cadorna the reckless. (I firmly believe that Bulgaria was defeated because they got no Bismarck or Moltke)

I actually disagree, Hotzendorf wasnt a *Auto Corrected*, he was actually a strategy genius. In my opinion he was the best strategist of ww1, but on the other hand, he was the worst tactician. He doesnt really know how to lead an army, but he knows how to make plans really well. Boroevic leading the army+Hotzendorfs strategies = victory at isonzo

Also, Cadorna is kinda an example of why I'm not super fond of the textbook update. I thought everyone having somewhat sub-optimal skillsets (except Ludendorff) was interesting. And Cadorna could have been handy back when he was the only one with Dogfight, but now he's totally useless.

I mean, Garibaldi is not great and he costs medals, but at least he is not terrible like Cadorna and you don’t need to waste textbooks on him or ennoble him to even make him usable. He is basically Infantry Krasnik but with medal cost instead (That’s supposed to be the bummer, but then again, we have a ridiculous amount of general slots and medals pretty much rain into our hands in this game).

Why are you guys roasting Cadorna so badly when Plehwe is the worst cavarly general in the game. Give him some heat

I would imagine Garibaldi + Aosta + Free Cadorna would stand some chance. But many rivers to cross though, meaning that your troops might get worn down very easily. At least there are provided generals too
