I find columbia quite easy for 1 star nation actually, just spam donate to spain or they will be sandwiched between portugal, france and north africa. 1917 you always win in 50+ turns 40 at least.

I literally just got this game and wiped out late Civil War with France. It was more or less easy. Once you have South America under control, just send troops through Mexico and I cannot believe how many cities were just EMPTY. No health, no troops, just nothing. This seems like a breeze compared to WC3. The free generals, the nice growing from nothing, the only thing I dont like is how messy the borders look. Im still stuck on Battle Of Fredericksburg. I dont like how Burnside just charges forward for a round taking a crap ton of damage.

1861- France, Mexico and Cuba. Any tips? As mexico- Help USA defeat Confederacy and help Peru take on Venezuela and Columbia or at least save it till France joins( it will spam generals). As Cuba- Defend Against Spain till France joins and then take out Spain, then help your allies . As France- Capture South America and Spain. Then see your allies destroying Canada and Britain. Accept Peace when possible ( is very helpful). Especially see the weapons of units and Against which type of armor they are best. |

France 1917 is so much fun. You get to form napoleon's empire while not having to worry about the Americas, you have THE best special units and you get some of the best gens in the game (foch is a beast). AND the best part is, if you kill off the spanish and then rush through germany, you could win without much trench warfare ( though you may get bogged down later when you swing south and threaten Vienna, Ottoman and Austrian troops usually hold you off for a few turns).
I think i played the france 1917 conquest about 5x though already its really fun, even in challenge mod (though you will face trench warfare in challenge mode- Cav gens to the rescue)

1917 campaigns
3star: Britain, was quite easy
2 star: White Russia, was moderate difficulty
1 star: Greece, was very easy once I got the hang of it (hard otherwise) and only needed 2 generals.

I have to comment that tribal union is actually the easiest conquest for 1 star in 1914. Trash units is offset by the fact that you can use generals. It's also pretty safe as you are located quite far from the action but near enough that it won't take you 10 turns just to arrive in your destination, and your buddies, the Germans, would help you beat out the French stationed in Africa. After that, just hold the coasts against the invading Italians, and once their navy is destroyed, it's free real estate. Just send the majority of your generals to invade Portugal, while leaving 2 or 3 generals(one or two being artillery generals) to fight off the Italian Navy.
