Is there a strategy for this mission? The german army appears behind my forces when I take a city and from that point on it gets hard to keep my generals alive.

Just go straight down the middle. Take the middle keypoint, split left and right. Enemy reinforcements arrives near middle city when you take the left keypoint (?)
Don’t take the Low hp city it will trigger reinforcements from bottom left corner
Also in challenge mode, enemy reinforcements from bottom left corner will come either way.
Hint : tanks are good at sieging cities/ taking out forts
