The way I did it was by focusing on the East coast. Bribe the UK if you can without losing any cities. Because the A.I loves fighting the player, the Confederates will have an easier time fighting the US. The main goal is to survive while dealing as much damage to the US as possible. The US has scripted reinforcements on the West coast so try and hold it off with militia. When the UK and Iroquois join in, McClennan should be dead or near it. Push hard with artillery to Washington and New York and take it. The Confederates should be losing to the Mexicans but because you distracted the US, they're still afloat. When the US on the East coast is nearly defeated, focus on the West coast and upgrade the city so you can build light artillery. By that time, you should've been able to kill off the spam. Spam light artillery and start taking the cities until you reach the Mexican border. The Confederates should've been able to weaken the units/city so you should have an easier time. When you have a stable economy and don't need to build any units, donate to your South American allies and with enough donations, they should be able to hold/beat back the French. The rest should be pretty self explanatory. I can create a more detailed guide with pictures if you want.

They seem more like meatshields instead of actual allies.

What is your current tech level and generals? I have a lot of great generals, but my tech level is only Chapter 1 and 2. My generals: Petain, Ludendorff, Foch, Sheer, Grant, Jackson, McClellan, Johnston, Sheridan, Farragut, Horne, Hotzendorf. All of them unupgraded. I believe that my meh tech and the fact that my generals are all unupgraded + my lack of a good strategy for this conquest before your advice is the reason it was difficult. Mainly due to lack of strategy, though, because I was donating to the CSA as much as possible instead of bribing Britain in.

Then your conquest can be a piece of cake .
