I only purchase Howitzers due to their ability to defend at close range, has anyone found legitimate reasons to spend more for the field artillery. I would be interested to know the math behind it. Even if I manage to keep my artillery protected I don’t feel like it is worth the trouble. Especially when utilizing Generals such as Leopold that have the skill counterattack.

I'd rather have the 1-2 range over the extra damage. Never have needed to build a field artillery in conquests because Light Artillery always did the job for a lot cheaper. There were so many times where I accidently moved my Field Artillery to the front and clicked off that the extra damage was not worth missing a shot at a tank or armored car.

Howitzers, without any hesitation. They can attack and defend themselves unlike the Field Artillery. Instead of using the Field Artillery, I prefer to use the Krupp Cannon since it is the most powerful piece of artillery of the game, perfect in blasting enemy cities and fortresses.

I’m switching over. Howitzers are better. Now that I’m on the hardest challenge campaigns, the short range is favorable to the power difference.

I usually use Howitzers, but when they give you a free one, or a tavern general just somehow is on one I don't really care that they have less range. I also sometimes spam them in late game conquests because i have a huge economy.(though I usually use light arty or even howitzers)

Howitzers have the great ability to come close to the field artillery/Krupp Cannon and shot it with 135% which is great!

Haubitze vs Feldartillerie I prefer to Haubitze for it’s flexible at close range even less damage, but if Haubitze and Krupp Schwere Feldhaubitze I would worth to sacrifice it‘s flexible at close range for a lot damage.

German language of howitzers and feld artillery? Yep. It’s name in German. I think Krupp Cannon is 15 cm sFH 18 it’s wwii Heavy Field Howitzer because wwi sFH 13 have shorter barrel, light artillery is Cannon, Howitzer is light howitzer ,Field Artillery is Heavy Field Howitzer. I still need research further about other Artillery in the game.

After some research Light artillery in the game is French Canon de 75 mm Modele 1897 Howitzer is maybe 10 cm K 17 or less 10.5 cm LeFH 16 but I think LeFH 16 is right one Field Artillery is. very hard one, but I think it is Canon de 155 L modèle 1918 Schneider and last one Krupp Cannon I have new conclusion It is 15 cm K 16

Those little things make conquests so much easier *Here you can see the Light Artillery in its natural habitat. While there may only seem to be one, I can assure you that there is an entire pack nearby getting ready to pounce on whatever unfortunate pray they may stumble across. Their diets mainly consist of city walls however they will take on bigger prey such as fortresses when they are desperate. What's this? It seems that they have found a poor level 2 city left behind without any defenses. Within 4 swift blows, the city crumbles and the pack rejoice! The cycle of life continues and this pack will continue to search the land for their next meal. Hope to see you tune in next time for our review of the Light Artillery's bigger brother, Howitzer!*
