The Ottoman reinforcements make this mission very difficult. When I destroy the Ottoman General nothing happens. Do I need to split my fleet in the begininning or is there something I’m missing.

I loaded as many ships with my best generals and admirals and went east instead of North. The AI made a pretty dumb blunder splitting up their north fleet so I just obliterated that one after taking out the east fleet. And then those reinforcements were harmless.
Having Beatty helped a lot though.

Killing general before he arrives at the bottom part makes the additional fleet not come and lowers everyone's morale by two. You should definitely do this
