How hard is it? Has anyone beaten it without using gold generals or great generals such as McClellan and Hindenburg?

Now that in the new update, this “no gen above count” is gone, are there any other challenge mission that is similar to this ?

To me the “no generals” missions are like playing a difficult conquest where you only use your starting generals.

What works for me is to take my generals with only 3 skills first, then I find 2 or 3 generals who do not have skills that get used often, counterattack, tactic master, inspiration. Dont pick a general that has those 3 skills for sure. The key is this; mix up the generals from their specialties. For instance I use my admirals as calvary or artillery for infantry. Take 3 or 4 generals to be safe. Also I forgot to mention go equip the ones you want to use with as much general abilities and health. When a general is off of his specialty he will not use tactics except for the grey universal skills, but that is whe you must not choose generals that are likely to use the universal skills. Keep an eye on number of skills used on the screen that pops up before you make moves. Good luck!

Those were the rantings of fool. Upon learning my mistake the above seems to be nonsense.
