I completed both American missions without upgrading Grant or Sheridan (let alone without spending precious books to change their skills). So, it is better to concentrate all efforts on technology upgrades, McClelan and Farrengut. And, of course, to get all healing items before playing them. And very likely we don't need all those generals after that. No sorrow to be a parted company with Grant, Sheridan or Farrengut, but I am really sorry to sell McClelan. He is an excellent general, but the last update literally "killed" him. Moreover, I think we need generals like Stepanovic for future missions. Even thinking if I would buy him or wait the release of generals.

But that means that you should immediately sell him once you’re done with the History Mode missions.

I really hope that ET isn’t lazy and lets us play as the Japanese in the Russo-Japanese War instead of making alternate history and having us play as the Russians instead. Would love to see Admiral Togo in the game as a gold-tier.

But what I would really love is Admiral Togo. He was a legend in real-life. Demonstrated how strong Japan was when the world still thought the Japanese were a bunch of nobodies.

Ouch, I tried the battle of gettysburg with maxed grant, sheridan and mcclellan (had to as I kept failing), thought I had a chance and used all 10 large med packs and 13 small med packs. Was winning until the "general attack" came, and the last wave destroyed the objective union artillery general and overwhelmed all of my troops. I have max tech, and this failure made me shoot myself in the foot... Is there any way to beat this easily? I dont know what Im doing wrong, tried defeating all 3 enemy objectives first but the spam destroyed my frontline generals and left no one to defend my objectives, and slowly defending left me utterly annihilated when the last mega wave arrives. Must I buy Sherman and Meade for this? Heard most of you used only farragut, grant and mcclellan, but im really stuck here and Im pretty much doomed for my main game.

Is it safe to spend medals for shop med packs? I have 2000 now and am currently using them for textbooks/med packs. Most of my main generals are already there, so I only require Leopold, an infantry and a cavalry general that will take me through history mode and late game respectively. Maybe even bismarck, albrecht or mackensen for history mode. I plan to leave at least 2000, and spend the extra I earn to refill my med packs

It's probably safe to do it especially if you have Ludendorff's medal bonus. You should be making around 60-70 medals a day so it's fine and your current stockpile of medals should be more than enough to get all the good new generals.

People are complaining that the F2Ps are getting way too much benefits, but this is a good example that the P2Ws still have the edge.

Its pretty diff than p2w, even more so than other games. For instance in game performance (excluding iap gens) is never affected by whether you choose to spend money or not in wc4, but now ew6:1914 has boosted resource awards, premium items, improved tactics etc.

But back when the update was just released, many p2ws were complaining. I stated it myself that f2ps should have some opportunities, too, and that the update also benefits the p2ws.

Is History Mode easier if your tech is worse? Cause I just did a test try and beat it, with 2 stars. Granted, I wasn’t really expecting to win, and didn’t bother to use medpacks. But it went much easier than expected. I had zero tech upgrades. All recruitable generals had a attack-boosting item and a healing item. Said generals didn’t have upgraded skills or swapped skills. AI troops in the north managed to defeat A.P Hill and his forces without any problems. Longstreet’s guards were easy to defeat and he was helpless as my generals got him to critically low HP very quickly. It was time to fight Robert E. Lee. He was strong and killed Grant and lowered Shafter to very low HP, but nothing too difficult and nowhere near the demigod that you guys make him seem to be. His reinforcements weren’t anything special and Sherman beat through them without any problems. Meade and the northern city are completely safe from the Confederates. Mission ends earlier because all remaining Confederates got killed. Some of my weaker generals died, that’s why I got a A rank. The used generals.
