What do you think about my pimped Grant? It cost 15 Books (5+10) to change two skills. I thought he has pretty high stats and could be useful with the right skills.

Look good but It’s could be perfect if you swap formation master for infantry expert because I do believe in raw damage rather than depend on luck to deal more damage, Anyway I don’t think you should waste any of your textbook on him.

Grant is not worth it to use textbooks on. Reasons: -Has 4 skills -Requires 3 skills to replace, and his stats aren’t good enough to compensate it.

He is free though which is a redeemable factor. But generals like haig, boreovic, and nicholas i need very little textbook investment to be better than him. Robert e lee needs about the same work but he can reach emperor while also having the best ability in the game.

I still find it funny that Johnston, Jackson and McClean have a higher title than Grant

A bit weird considering he was president of the United States once and the only other person to even run for it was Johnston (As far as I know)

I know that this is crazy, but if you give him 4 amazing skills (Let’s say Assault, Intercept, Tactics Master and Plain Fighting), he could help carry you through the Civil War history missions. I would only do this if you have your roster pretty much finished and are struggling with history mode, though. And I’d rather have Schafter as the free general than Grant. Just like I’d rather have Miles than Meade as a purchasable general.

Here I am from the future to tell you that Infantry Expert is useless because it gives you a measly 5% bonus.
