So, from this list, european-war-4.boards.net/thread/12145/inf-generals-max-battle-ability?page=1&scrollTo=231109, Haig and Boroevic have very similar stats, but the numbers are rounded down so they have the same total attack bonus. Both also have the exact same price. However, they have quite different skills, which we can change now that the skill book update is out. So who needs the least replacement? As we know, the better the General is, the less replacement he needs.

After long thought I decided to vote for Macmahon It was a real dilemma whom to choose as my third Infantry general. It was a pleasant dilemma because I had funds to replace Galviz and MacArthur with medal generals. So, my choice was - Li and Macmahon. His overall battle/infantry ability is a way worse than that of Haig/Boroevic, but: 1. The difference isn't that great when we speak about infantry. In practical terms 40 points mean about + 7 attack. Of course, no one is willing to loose 7 attacking points, but it is not crucial either. 2. I didn't like skills of both Haig and Boroevic, so, very likely I have to reset 3 skills in both cases. But with Macmahon I will replace one or two skills at best and that was a decisive factor.

Well, I will go for Haig since I also thought that Mountain Fighting and Jungle Fighting are garbage.

Being on jungle mountain tiles and having tactics master trigger with boroeivic is a rare case scenario I will admit. I will get borevic as having two terrain bonuses will make him very flexible, and all I would have to change is battle array to assualt. He will be like a karl john garibaldi from ew6

Agreed. Macmahon has amazing defense. All thats really needed is to replace counterattack with a better skill like tactics master, formation master, or intercept.

As long as the general works, it’s fine.

As long as the general works, it’s fine. What about bismarck? He is macmahon’s best features minus cover skill plus emperor rank. I think its a good trade off.

I will only get him for History Mode because Prussia is apparently the protagonist of the Franco-Prussian War and Austro-Prussian War sections.
