So I can't seem to 3 star this mission as it requires me to keep both fortresses alive, no generals used, and to build 6 trenches however they only give you enough gold to make 5. I can barely keep the fortresses alive as they only give you 1 general (Who isn't exactly that good) as the rest of the units can't deal enough damage before dying. And even if I kill the spam, my units are all heavily damaged and now I need to quickly rush towards the city before they bomb the fortresses into oblivion. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
(Tech is fully maxed)

You need luck. A LOT of luck.
You understood that the key of success is to capture the enemy city AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. This for two reasons:
1) You start with 100 gold. Building a trench costs 20 gold. You have enough to build 5 trenches instead of the 6 required.
2) Air bombings will start at the sixth round.
First, you must help your allies kill the enemy cavalry general. In the same time, try to destroy the artillery units, because they cause great damages to the fortresses.
Even with a technology fully upgraded, it is nearly impossible without using medical supplies...
What I can tell you:
1) First thing to do, help your allies kill the enemy cavalry general.
2) Once it is done, rush to the enemy city. Now it gets complicated, because you must try to keep your units alive. Medical supplies are advised.
3) If you have medical supplies, feel free to destroy (or weaken) the enemy artillery on your path, including Potiorek.
4) You must use Stepanovic and your artillery to destroy and capture the enemy city faster, since they are the most powerful units at your disposal.
5) Your infantry must absolutely survive. You cannot waste time and resources in recruiting new units, because you need to get more gold as soon as possible for your sixth trench!
This is how I succeeded.

So it's one of those missions that require Medical Supply spam... If only it was 0 generals dead, then this would be a cinch. Funny how the normal (challenge) missions are sometimes harder than the challenge (challenge) missions.

I tried to beat it without using medical supplies but let's be honest: you've a few units, you cannot deploy any general... It is perhaps one of the hardest challenges so far. Anyway, when you cannot deploy a general, the challenge becomes de facto very difficult. And in this one, clock is ticking. You must move quickly, follow the right path... Thought that a technology fully upgraded was enough? Not at all!

After the update they made the Mission easier. You used to start with 0 population now you start with 60

I thought this was hard, until I faced the 14th mission of the same chapter, keeping 4 allies survive the panzer onslaught, 0 generals deployed

Hahahaha, please end my suffering... Pretty sure everyone had the same reaction, beating a pretty hard mission and thinking that the Plain Fighting medal is within reach then slammed in the face with that god awful mission. Not cool, not cool at all

I finally got around to do this challenge. It was a tough but really fun puzzle. I basically did what is recommended to do here except that I let the eastern fort do some work.
This kind of thing is why you want to upgrade your fort tech folks!
