Why would you choose Italy in 1914? Because it's easy. Necessities Tech: max first campaign Generals: first campaign + hötzendorf Since the Italian reunification, relations with Austria have deteriorated, so the Italian government decided during the First World War that this was the time to destroy this threat. That is why I and the other commanders have come up with a plan. Phase 1: the defense First it is important to know for sure that we can stop the Austrian and German troops. That is why the first weeks will mainly be about defending the Alps, there is no need for attacks, this will only create a longer front line.
Phase 2: guerrilla To understand this phase, we must first understand how the 1914 conquest works. In a normal conquest there are several battlefields, these are regions where both factions have allies, for example iberia in 1865 where Portugal belongs to one party and Spain to the other. In 1914 there are very few such battlefields, Austria and Russia for example, are not a battlefield because they are different regions, they have a border, but both fight in many different places. Why is this important? These battlefields determine the game, the battle here is often much faster and determines the outcome for the entire conquest. In 1914 these are the Balkans and North Africa, if the Central Powers can quickly occupy the Balkans they have won. That is why we are slowing this down, sending troops to the Balkans, conquering open cities, and then simply spamming militias. In North Africa we do the same, we conquer open cities and then spam militia so that Portugal can beat Germany. In the meantime, we are also donating money to Russia to support them against Germany. Phase 3: win? But how are we going to win so far you only talk about slowing down and defending? Very simple, Italy is going to do nothing at all except defend and irritate. At the same time, Russia, England and France will eliminate Germany, so that the balance of power will break through to our side. Unfortunately, there are no images of the final phase because someone was so arrogant to turn on auto and was surprised when it turned out that the AI is unable to put down militia.

As you may have expected, reason is that you don’t have photos of the final phase which are important as this is proof of success. But at least you have learned that AI doesn’t put down militia. Great guide, otherwise.

Seger, you can also rush to german cities in bavaria in phase one so you can cripple them down faster and get resources fast for militia spam in next phases.

Seger, you can also rush to german cities in bavaria in phase one so you can cripple them down faster and get resources fast for militia spam in next phases. it is possible if you have better general. I just did it with the same tech but with Ivanov, Macarthur and Moltke. then you don't have to wait and you can attack them in phase 1.

Seger, you can also rush to german cities in bavaria in phase one so you can cripple them down faster and get resources fast for militia spam in next phases. I sent some troops to help France in the Rhine and took some cities as a result. Additionally, North Africa is ripe for a direct intervention so you can guarantee a victory there by sending some starting troops. These troops can later be used to liberate Greece should Greece fall. I noted that even though Bulgaria could have attacked via the Adriatic after the fall of Serbia, Bulgaria would prefer to go via the land route. Only when Montenegro and Greece fall will Bari be open to an amphibious landing.

You can make one to two units (the troops in sicily) go to africa and the troops in bari and near it go to serbia and help it and later capture their base for protection. The rest go to ahe and rhineland.

I did this as my first conquest with max 3rd Campaign tech, took Vienna on turn 14 first 1914 conquest I did it as my second 1914 conquest, with 2nd campaign tech. I did nothing other than hold off the Ottomans, Austro-Hungarians and Germans off till turn 50, occasionally giving aid to the Russians and then started attacking along with the British, Portuguese, French and Russians. At turn 40 I thought all was lost when Rome was taken but I managed to take it back and then slowly turn the tide. I won at turn 114(could have done it 10 turns earlier but I refused to make peace with the Ottomans until I took Medina), thought I would get only C rank but ended up getting A for some reason.

It is quite easy to get A rank in this game for some reason.

Did this with 1st campaign tech + generals and Beseler, finished it in turn 64. Start spamming cavalry at rome in turn 20 to prevent the ottomans invasion.
