I’ve been wondering about this ever since the History Mode update came out.
I don’t know how hard the History Mode missions actually are. But they don’t seem easy, and the generals that they give us by default are mostly not that good. Just decent at best (Beseler might be an exception. But I doubt that he can carry us alone through the mission where we can use him)
So we have no choice but to get the best generals that we can use in that mode and make them better. (Moltke in the Prussian missions especially) It might even be just two generals like Moltke and McClellan.
But should we really dismiss them after we finish with the mode? It takes some effort to make them good enough to carry us through those missions, and they can be useful after those missions are finished.
