Yes turning off the news is a personal choice, and I respect that people like to stay informed. Where to find a reliable source of information can be tricky. Depends on what country you're in or what "party" you're press is affiliated with. That's where the bullcrap detector can be handy. Personally though, if I hear a story about something going on in Kazbekistan or Venezuela I'm not going to take it as fact because I'm not there! How do I know if that is what is really going on. American news has been doctoring, sensationalizing, and outright lying about things since the Spanish American War. Google "you provide the image, and I'll provide the war" Heck our prestigious pulitzer prize for journalism was named after a yellow lying snake who, with William Randolf Hearst, created a war out of nothing to SELL NEWSPAPERS! I am basically saying, if it's outside your door or in your town you can SEE IT, if it's not, and you have no one local to collaborate, it could be a total lie.

As to your exposure, consider how much news is good news and how much is bad news percentage wise. Positive/Negative ratio. I asked myself "Do I really want to spend my day focused on the seemingly 99% of the news that is bad, and let myself be handed a whole gangload of problems around the globe that I can do absolutely nothing to correct"? My answer was fโโk no! It's totally disempowering. If it's headed toward your front door you can do something about it, if it's not, then why get sucked into the whirlpool? These are all my humble opinions, but my words have iron.

You dont have to read news all day, sure it will make your mood lose, its all news, after all, mix of good and bad things etc. and informs us in everything that is happening. And I respect your opinion, as good and bad news sometimes is in the minds of people, i think.

And I just got word that my school, a private school, cancelled classes for at least 1 week due to COVID-19. The state governor closed all public schools. For me, the initial one week, then extended one month for community quarantine.

I could rant for daze about all of this, but I'll get off my soapbox instead and remain blissfully ignorant of all the stuff I can't fix about this world. It's all Hollywood anyway, with everyone having a part in the movie, playing their roles to the hilt, working on that Oscar...lol. I am the lead character in my own movie, and I'm thinking it's going to be a triumph, even if others decide to make theirs a tragedy. Some are trying real hard for making Post Apocalyptic Nightmare Wasteland. Which movie you decide to be in is up to you.

At least I can do my Geography assignment. I have to choose one of the various themes that we have studied in the class. Iโm going to choose the Fall of the USSR.

Yup. Finished it some 2 hours ago. Took a good amount of research, but it was worth it. I actually learned a lot.

Honestly, Iโm enjoying this system so far. Every day I can do something productive that is also fun and helpful, be it homework, an assignment, or practicing for a test. And when Iโm finished, my reward is being able to rest in the evening, sleep in a good time (Neither too early, nor too late) and wake up in a relaxed way.

Too bad that there is a chance the school is going to take away half of our vacation (Mid-semester vacation lasts 1 month here in Brazil).

Yeah... my school said โnope. We arenโt dealing with thisโ. Here in the US, we, at least in Illinois, get a two week (normally one) spring break an entire week early. I think a lot of people are over reacting about this virus. Iโm not saying itโs not a bad virus, because it is, but buying out a store full of toilet paper?
