I open this room for talk about anything related to this franchise - from the wargame and figurines to lore, art and even memes and parodies.

Well, looks like I have to be the first one who posts. Anyway, this is where I got my interest in Warhammer from: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyiDf91_bTEgnBN0jAvzNbqzrlMGID5WAProbably the most serious video of If the Emperor had a Text-to-speech Device (TTS) series Even if just as a joke/meme/shitpost, it made interested to look for the actual lore of the universe, and I don't regret it.

Game Workshop still sees them to this day, even it's not their main source of income anymore. (in the image: metal figurines of the Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum)

Looks I'm the one that has to push this thread at the moment. No worries, I will come up with something in a few hours.

Some of my favourite WH40K themed songs (courtesy to StringStorm):
There would also be the 40K singing idols series, but I'm not sure if I should include it here due to being more or less connected to the franchise.
Next post: probably something about official art I like or start a talk about If the Emperor had a Text-to-Speech Device (TTS)

Is it like D&D or something? I've never played but it kinda looks like one. (The figurines, table game, etc) In a way, but not really. D&D is an RPG, while Warhammer 40K started as a wargame (wargame = a type of strategy game that simulates warfare realistically, as opposed to abstract strategy games such as chess. Wargames may be miniature figurines on a tabletop, board games or video games. They typically use a map that depicts various battlefield terrain features such as woods, hills, fields and streams, with a grid or location system superimposed over this to regulate the movement and positions of the games' pieces, each of which represents a specific military formation, such as an infantry brigade or artillery battery. Many wargames recreate specific historic battles, and can cover either whole wars, or any campaigns, battles, or lower-level engagements within them)

Anyway, where should we start the whole discussion from? I have already presented some options, so it is up to you. I am just as new to this franchise, so we could learn more together.

Alright, let's start it from here: how did you get interested in finding more about this universe? For me, I think it was purely by chance. I knew about the Exterminatus meme and GIF, then I randomly found the source of it. It is part of the series If the Emperor had a Text-to-Speech Device, a comedic/parody (but also easier to understand) take on the franchise and all the bizzare retcons and things added through the over 40 years of existence. I got to like that series quite a lot, and made me want to find out more about the official lore. Currently at Episode 28, with a number of 42 episodes planned for the main storyline, without counting special videos and shorts. If we count ITEHTTSD (TTS for short), there are at least two timelines: the official canon from GamesWorkshop, and the TTS canon, seen by many fans as a better connected story, sometimes even being referred as "the true Warhammer 40K canon". But I understand they are different thi gs, with different takes on the universe. Oh, the Exterminatus GIF: i.imgur.com/QqwnmDh.gif

I have the feeling this has not been the best place for the thread due to a lack of activity. I want to thank Karl Dönitz and Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby Jr for activity though. Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby Jr , perhaps this thread could be promoted in the next edition of the Newspaper? Maybe as a free-time activity/thread for anyone interested in Sci-fi/Fantasy.

Hmm might be due to demography, considering that this is a history interest forum
