I started a separate account on a new device, I'm just curious when I'm able to upgrade my generals nameplate from blue to green. It appears it won't let me right now, so I'm not sure if that means there's a requirement I haven't met or what.

Same goes to unlocking purple upon 1980

Is there any point in upgrading Messe to red plate? Or should I just save those 50 k gold?

Well to me, it's a waste because he'll get replaced by Rokossovsky (or Vatutin) eventually. Better spent on tech upgrades unless Messe is pretty heavily upgraded

depends really on how much you use Messe. If you are still relying on him, doing that upgrade would be a good idea since you can always play conquests to earn back the gold

So I'll wait for the time being. I still have to upgrade Leeb's nameplate.

I just noticed that the name plate color kinda symbolize the current scenario you're in:
- blue = color of EU flag = WWII Europe - green = color of american uniform / color of forests as pacific front is in tropical region (rainforests and guerilla+traps+camo) = WWII Pacific - red = color of Soviet flag = Cold War - purple = color of scorpion terrorists flag = Modern War
