Two individuals who belong in this game but who do not appear are
1. Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller U.S.M.C.
He was a FIVE time Navy Cross winner and most decorated marine in the 245 year history of the corps. He was a distant cousin of Patton, but not the prima donna George was. He fought in two pre-WW2 guerilla actions (Haiti and Nicaragua). In WW2 as a major and a colonel. he fought at Guadalcanal, Saipan, and bloody Peleliu. Then as a brigadeer general he fought in Korea at the "frozen" Chosin reservoir against 4 to 1 odds at way below zero temperatures. He belongs in 3rd tier Generals Infantry on par with Yamashita or MacAurthur.
2. Hans Ulrich Rudel, not a commander but a Luftwaffe pilot. He won the Knight's Cross to the Iron Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds, a super medal created ONLY for him. He was the most decorated german serviceman of WW2. He flew JU87 Stukas and occassionally FW190 ground attack variants. 2,530 ground attack missions/ 519 tanks destroyed/ sank a battleship, a cruiser, a destroyer, 70 landing craft/ 150 artillery emplacements/ 4 armoured trains/ AND shot down 51 aircraft(42 of which were fighters) Yeah he wasn't a general, but he would deserve a position in the game something like Arnold or Dowding. Since I'm on the subject....EW6 world war one failed to include German commander Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck who, with only 14,000 men, most of whom were native Africans(his troops fought like elite soldiers), tied up 300,000 ( nearly one-third of a million )allied troops in Africa for the ENTIRE first world war. He was never defeated in battle.H
On the eve of his first battle he did recon himself...ON A BICYCLE! During that battle(Tanga) African bees got riled up and mostly had it out for the British/Indian troops leading them to say "He even has the bees fighting for him!" Lettow-Vorbeck was so respected by his British counterparts that after the war, during the worldwide financial depression of the 1930's, they pooled together a PENSION to ensure his well being. He belongs in any WW1 game.
