Hello everyone! Thanks to those who have helped me form a basic understanding of the forum demographics in my earlier poll. This time, I plan to release two new initiatives/projects/functions in the forum that is aimed to increasing member communication, interaction and bonding, crucial to sustaining our community as one that will be alienated from one another as the forum expands globally and much of the so called "old guard" becomes offline.
The two initiatives are as follows:
Study Pals and Career Guidance (feel free to suggest more catchy names haha)
1) Study Pals: An area where members can consult others for help regarding school/academic matters, since from the demographic poll I can generalize that we do have a majority population of youths still schooling in the forum. In this such thread, members can have a space to freely post any difficulties they face, and the questions can be of any kind and syllabus. In turn, other members can offer their help and knowledge as well, and reply to their queries. Overall, this initiative is not only aimed at forum bonding, but also as a reminder for the majority of our users to also balance out their academic commitments with their gaming by participating and using this new feature. For instance, whether I need help crafting an argumentative essay for my language subjects, or require help understanding mathematical differentiation or integration, I need not approach other forums like quora when I have members whom I am closer to more willing to help me. There is a vague concept in mind now, where discussions and questions are centralized in the same general thread to keep it contained and specific, but do comment any other ideas that you would like to try out.
2) Career Guidance: This is a platform where older members already in the workforce can offer career-specific guidance to the many youths that populate the forum. It can range from any profession, like the literary arts, engineering, civil service, pharmaceutical, history/archaeology, education etc. This is so that again members can seek for guidance for their future aspirations and goals without having to consult total strangers, and due to the diversity of the forum we can rely on specific occupational experiences as a point of exchange. One does not have to be already in the workforce too to offer guidance, one can base it off personal passions and course/majors selection.
Thank you for voting and contributing to the development of these forum features. One possible limitation I would expect is that the threads are just not popular enough to be widely utilized, but ultimately its down to whether members are willing to ask and consult. There will always be sufficient, amiable individuals to offer support, just that the initiative's popularity is driven mainly by the number of interested participants that will post enquiries.
