A really bad unit at max tech because it's got 11 move then. Never spawn one. And I don't think you should use generals either for the same reason. Too slow.

I’m always annoyed at their slow speed and high cost. Their damage isn’t horrendous, but you’re better off spawning Hunting Cavalry which costs slightly more yet is so much better.

It's funny how I'll use Hunting/Breastplate Calvary and Heavy Machine Gunners instead of them.

Pre-1912, it's actually a good unit, being the only one to have Rifle (120% dmg to no armor) compared to those musket fielders (105% dmg to no armor) so i use them quite often. The biggest downside being the mobility of just 11, but if you have USA wonder, you can bump that up to 15. By 1912 however, its effectiveness reduces quite alot. I still preferred them over hmg for having the march and less expensive, but as of the new update, it seems like not just mobility is no longer an issue with generals, the Heavy Machine Guns now actually deals more than the Rifles, upto 135% against no armor vs just 120% respectively. Well, gonna have to change my playstyle now.

It’s actually worth something with that wonder as it’ll be as fast as all the other infantry.

Unless I am given new infantry units at the start, which they deal satisfactory damage, they probably cannot be used effectively in-game. If you have enough population and resources, they do hold cities well though, in case of a huge enemy spam offensive.
